A Liz Interview at City University of London!

The Schools of Business and Publishing
I leave Friday morning to join a collaboration at City University London. I get to meet with members of the Senior & Professorial staff and students of the Cass School of Business, and The School of Journalism and Publishing. The meeting is a two-hour event that takes place on Tuesday, May 13. We’ll be exploring how blogging can make a difference.
I mentioned this to a few of you last weekend in Chicago. It’s something I’m looking forward to — it brings together my background in education, international publishing, and online practice. To say I’m delighted would be an understatement.
I can’t wait to learn what students and professors there are doing. I can’t wait to tell them all about we’re doing. Most of all I can’t wait to have BIG IDEAS about what we might do together.
Is there something important that you think I should tell them?
Business, writing, thinking . . . I’ll be the one with the accent.

Hi Liz
Crossing the big water again! If you have time, my famous coffee is always ready for you ;-)
What I would tell them is to be clear, open and ‘casual’ but honest. Make all ’stories’ interesting and inspiring - not short bullet-point lists.
The more you tell, the more you ’sell’. You can never have too long stories, only too boring stories ;-)

Liz, I’m so excited for you. I grew up in London and it is a swingin’ city. Enjoy. What to tell them? You can be inspiration to others, have a business, and meet worldwide friends online. And remember. Everything you write will be there forever. Everything.

Hi Michelle!
I’ve been to the UK many times and I can’t wait to see old friends and new friends this time over.
I can already see the value of asking my question. You always inspire. :)

Liz - How smart of the City University London to include you in their program! What would I have you tell them .. understanding how to use the tools or what I might call “tactics” of social media is important; but how they complement and impact goals is critical. I know you’ll tell lots of stories about social building relationships .. the heart of doing business. Have a blast!
