After the Music Died — It Got the Link Leak Virus
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 12:29 pm
Tueday Night Music Comment Night
Open Comments Last Night was held down in Nashville. Folks were singing and dancing. Songs were stuck in our heads. Some folks admitted a predilection for men in uniforms, especially those who had swords. We danced so hard we lost the server. Then, the nasty link leak virus played a tune on things as well. Link Leak Virus is a special strain of the indie virus with blogtipping mutations that occur in threes edged its way in.
Cool links were shared.
- Cat Morley links the super jukebox — pandora
- Shirley Buxton shared romance. http://writenow.wordpress.com/2006/06/28/jerry-and-shirleyalways/
- Candice left us hype machine.
- HART brought HART’s Favorite Song.
If you listen you can hear, Joe singing Crimson and Clover over and over.

OK everybody, you all mentally shout this out, and Liz and I will go for it - ready?
“Don’t know why
I’m survivin’ ev’ry lonely day
When there’s got to be no chance for me
My life would end
And it doesn’t matter how I cry
My tears, so far, are a waste of time
If I turn away
Am I strong enough to see it through
Go crazy is what I will do
If I can’t have you
I don’t want nobody baby
If I can’t have you, uh-huh, oh
If I can’t have you
I don’t want nobody baby
If I can’t have you, uh-hoâ€

Christine,
That was excellent!

No sign of Basil. I think he’s down on Rush Street trying to pick up ladies.

Rick Says:
July 25th, 2006 at 9:03 pm e
Hey Ben, Basil probably took Donkey out to find some beer and waffles.
We talked about music with city names and names of people and tried to stick song in each others’ heads. Take a look at all of the titles that got mentioned. Until we crashed the server and it became the night that . . .
the music died, but that’s another song altogether.

Hey Shirley,
It was such fun to have you! Thank you for coming to visit us. I hope you’ll do it again soon.

Thanks for the good time last night. The songs were a good idea. I’m glad the server came back up in time for some other people in the world to get on.
My favorite line from Shrek is Donkey saying I’m making waffles!
Have a good day.
Christine Kane said
Thanks to freakin’ Starbucker…. all morning long I walked around my house singing Yvonne Ellimon!!! but it was a fun night… our party just got broken up. like high school.
ME Strauss said
Hi Rick!
Yeah, songs was a good idea and so was pirates. I’m hoping someone will help me out with finding an idea for next week. I almost didn’t have this one.
ME Strauss said
Hey Christine,
Thanks to you, it’s now stuck in my head!!!
Let’s go get Starbucker and make him dance for us.
Starbucker said
I can’t get it out of my mind either! Actually, I just said the heck with it and played it on my I-pod 10 times here at work. I’ll dance anytime, anyplace - as long as you are my partner again Liz! Your friend, (now) freakin’ Starbucker
ME Strauss said
Hey Starbucker,
That’s an invitation I just can’t pass up. It’s worth it have that stupid song in my head, I guess. If there’s a great story behind it!

Liz - I love ‘ya - but the image of you singing Julie Andrews is just plain scary!
ME Strauss said
Hi Ann,
I’m with you on that one. That’s what makes that so funny!
I’m not Julie Andrews by any means.

Liz, I gotta do a better job of keeping up with your Tuesday night Comment Nights. This looks like it was quite the wild time (in a fun way). Cheers!

Hi Dan,
Thanks for stopping by to check it out.
You’re right it was one of the best ones. Pirate night was great fun too!

I forgot that I have been to Pandora before … it’s already packed with B-52’s and Black Eyed Peas… I’m listening to it now to try and build up my tastes ..see what pops up!
ME Strauss said
Hi HART!
I know it’s great, but your favorite song is still hard to beat!
Now if only I could think of something nearly as fun as pirates and the songs were. . . .

Hey Liz. I originally picked up the hype machine from Fred Wilson (avc.blogs.com) . He’s really plugged in.
ME Strauss said
Hi Candice,
Thanks for letting us know. We’re always glad to be hooked up to new intelligent bloggers. Tell Fred to come by Tuesday, if he can and I’ll try to get over to see him too.

Hey Liz, did you get the Fawlty Towers DVD’s yesterday? Just wanted to make sure. Have fun with them!
ME Strauss said
Hey Starbucker,
Basil showed up yesterday morning. He was awake, but somehow he was snoring. . . . I’m taking him with me tonight to the Vox party by Six Apart and sneaking him on an airplane to San Jose early tomorrow to attend Blogher.
Yeah he’s here alright. He locked us out of the condo this morning and had a party already.
