Are You Overwhelmed by Internet ADD? What to Do …
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 7:58 am
Everyone Else Is Doing So Much More

Do you see everyone around you getting where you want to be and wonder why you’re standing still? Have you given yourself over to that new generation of Internet ADD … ADOS - AD oh Shiny!! ?
The answer is inside yourself and in what you’re not doing.
Talk and move. That’s what every person with a success story has done to achieve it. Only two things — talk and move. It’s the essence of doing.
Want to get somewhere? Do something.
What will you do today to build your success story?

sooo true! success born of action comes quickly… not acting is the only sure way to prevent it from happening.
Another thing I notice sometimes in myself and sometimes in others is too many ideas. A lot of times we don’t get out of the brainstorming mode. We want to do this, and this, and this, and this. We never land, and we never focus. And we never really start doing. Thanks for the simple reminder.
PS. video is a great medium, isn’t it?

Hi, Liz,
Guilty as charged. Again!
I’m reminded of the trailer for “Up” I saw in the theater a while back. The characters come upon a dog with a device attached to it’s collar. The dog looks at the characters and the device broadcasts the following: “My master made this device on my collar so I can communicate with…Oooh, look a squirrel!” At which point the dog chases after the errant rodent.
I laughed out loud, not because this was so typical of a dog, but because it is so typical of ME!
I’ve had a project in mind for the last two months and haven’t yet started it, because I get too distracted reading “important” items on the Internet.
Stopping that NOW! (Though I’m not stopping reading your blog…that *is* important)
Once, again I thank you for the kick in the pants. Don’t know what I’d do without you. Don’t want to even think about that.

Hi Todd,
Sometime focus is all we need to get us on the right path. Yeah.
I’ve learned a lot about taking a step in the direction I want to be going. It’s the best thing I can do to get myself closer to where I want to be. …
I’m only learning this video thing.

Hi Dave!
I know about those important things on the Internet. Oh those important things become so much more important than our own dreams. What we really is to believe in ourselves and to build on that. We need to find those people … not those ideas or things … that support and feed us and our goals so that we can make them happen.
How could we do this without each other is the question … yes.
How can I help?

Hi Suzie,
All of those bright, shiny objects flying by … they are like so many fireflies gone before we know it and not very satisfying. Aren’t we all longing to do what we came to do? Yet we’re so taken by these things … what is that? Maybe we’re afraid of the power we might have if we really did all that we might figure we could do?
You are awesome. You know that.

Thanks again Liz for your wisdom.
Recently I realized or, more accurately, acknowledged that I am my biggest barrier. I get in my way of getting things done. I check this, do that to avoid doing the real work that needs doing rather than just doing it no matter how difficult. The work doesn’t get any easier by frittering around. when I now catch myself distracted by shiny objects, I tell myself to stop getting in my way. Most times it works, except for today.
Recently a wise woman whispered to me, “Don’t fight it, it’ll come.” I wonder if this is what she was referring to.
