Blog Wisdom from Karen Lynch

I agree

Other people have accomplished what I want to do. Not all of those people had talent or credentials. And surely they also started somewhere. They weren’t born into it. They had to follow a path just like everyone else. They found a way. I can find a way too. — Karen Lynch, Hold the Vision – Dare to Dream

We can find a way too.

Everyone gets to pick their own destination.

So true! I interviewed someone once who said he made a decision that whatever he was doing was the most important thing for the company he worked for (even if he didn’t like it) and when he was in that mental state of mind, he made a difference in whatever he was doing.

    Hi Aruni!
Just the way we think about what we’re doing can have a major effect in the very way you describe. It’s amazing how the things I least like to do change when I think of them in more imaginative ways. :)

    Hi Donna!
We knew that when we were kids. How do we forget something so important? :)

Yes, we knew it when we were kids. Why do we somehow forget along the way? I think that when things seem a lot harder than we expected, we tend to overreact and give up. Then we think we weren’t meant to reach our destination…it’s only for other people, not us. I wonder how many people who end up reaching their destination thought this way at one point.

    Hi Hunter!
I’m guessing everyone goes through a phase where we think we’re not meant to get there — a sort of crisis of belief. I remember wondering whether what I believed in could possibly exist. I just couldn’t give it up long-term I didn’t want another world.
