Oh man, I so enjoy you! Hmmmm.
You know me. I’m clueless.

I love riding bikes. I’m not sure how to relate it to blogging other than riding a bike is fun and so is blogging. Riding a bike is healthy for you becuase it increases your endorphins. Blogging helps to increase your brain waves.
Riding a bike gets you in good physical shape for the race. Regular blogging gets you in shape for your large project or book.
Not too earth shattering for sure but with both activities it is in the consistency of each of them that will help make you feel good.

Hi Carma!
Those are some lovely points. I can almost feel the wind in my face as I write this comment to you.
Learning to ride a bike is a lot like learning HTML — it seems foreign and difficult at first and then suddently, it seems natural all at once.

When you stop peddling not much is going to happen
ME Strauss said
Hi Leah!
Unless, of course, you count the part where you fall over onto the ground.
Connie Reece said
And when you fall, you pick yourself up and get back on the bike. That’s how you learn to ride … and blog.
Karin H. said
You ride a bike on your own, you do the peddling. You can go as fast or as slow as you want.
Sometimes you ride in a group of other bikers and the tempo is aligned. Some take a right, some a left and some dismount.
Sometimes there can be even someone on the back - ‘taking a free ride’ - with you to the next stop.
Biking is freedom. As is blogging

Hi Connie!
Yep tht’s the way. bike and blog. Dust yourself off and get back on.
I bet GP would agree you do that for a horse in Montana . . . like that in Texas too I bet.
ME Strauss said
Good Morning, Karin!
You do the peddaling, You can go as fast or slow as you want. . . In the rain or the sun, I might add.
Yep we can blog on our own or together with friends. We can go our own way. It IS freedom. Folks are always saying thre ae no rules.
Karin H. said
Well, some tiny rules then. Like indicating where you’re going to prevent being ‘knocked-over’ by others who didn’t expect you to turn this or that way.
Karin H.
ME Strauss said
Hi Karin!
Yes we do need a few rules — indicating turns name just such rules.
And for example on Successful-Blog . . . be nice.
Karin H. said
Of course Liz (you lead by example ;-))

You can step away from your blog for a bit and it is still there when you get back to it. You can pick it up and start pedaling again.
Chasing the sun… I like that analogy. Don’t forget to wear your shades!
ME Strauss said
Hey Chris,
I should have known it would be you who would see the title and hear it too. You just brought back images of my son on graduation day wearing his shades with his cap and gown.
Facing the world on the seat of bike — we could go anywhere. It was the ultimate transportation at a certain age. We were independent then. Now on our blogs we can visit the world, or it comes to visit us. It’s another way to have a day in the sun.
We only need to know how to realize when we are there.
ME Strauss said
Karin,
You’re so positive and kind toward me. You call it leading by example. My brothers say I never give it up.
Chris Cree said
Liz, You know I like speed. I prefer a bike with a motor. (Not that I have one a the moment. Drat!)
ME Strauss said
A motor is a great idea. Hmmm how might you fit one on my blog? Let’s work on that. Wanna?
Kathy said
Blogging is like riding a bike because:
a) it’s a relatively low in cost but high in time spent using it to get places.
b) if you want to travel significant distances, you’re going to have to make dedicated and consistent effort.
For example, if you want to get from New York to LA, you can purchase a plane ticket OR you can buy a bike and start riding. If you choose to ride a bike, you’ll meet a LOT more people along the way than if you rode the plane and your body will be fit as a fiddle by the end of the trip.
While the trip may take longer on a bike, riding a bike also delivers a better view of the scenery and offers more “changes” in your life and in your physical body. For those who can’t afford the plane ticket, they may find riding the bike is the BEST way to make the cross country journey.
Blogging is a great for bootstrapping entrepreneurs to talk to potential clients/customers.

Hi Liz, I hope you are well. I agree, blogging is something you never forget. I noticed you and I have something in common. my degree is in elementary education, I student taught 4th and 5th grade. I just noticed you taught 1st grade. Those lucky kids! I think blogging is a natural fit in education, lets start kids early, that way it will be like a bike, something they would never forget.

HiJD!
Like riding a bike, bloggind IS something we never forget.
I think blogs belong in the the classroom and I’d love to work with you to figure out how to get them there. That would be so incredible to get kids using technology in that way.
Kent Blumberg said
Well this may be stretching things a bit, but…
On a bike you see many more interesting details than you do on some fast, motorized contraption. On a blog, you see many more interesting people than you do on some fast mass media site.
ME Strauss said
Hi Kent!
I think I get what you mean. Let me ask the judges. They say if you call yourself a web pbulsiher to give you the point.
Kent Blumberg said
LOL! I guess that means your question should have read:
“How is self-publishing on the web similar to riding a self-propelled, chain driven, two wheeled vehicle with no protection from the elements?”
ME Strauss said
Oh yeah, Kent! Isn’t that what I said?

Apres moi, le deluge
There’s no answer to my question, Liz. I’m surprised no one commented on that.
On the other hand, plenty of people have tried over the years to come up with a reasonable solution.
Interesting how something a little off-the-wall gets people thinking, eh?
ME Strauss said
Hi Scorpia!
It’s interesting we are so programmed to find the answer. We want to find the connections. I’m still thinking I can find out.

its already is LIZ, I fall everyday like I am still learning it. Every time I fall and i learn a new thing and start again. Sometimes I think Why i spend time in blogging but then someone says…you have a life there but how long i wonder.
ME Strauss said
Hi Ashish!
How boring life would be if we had nothing to wonder about. Don’t you think? Falling is a chance to learn new ways of getting up. Falling on a blog is a chance to let people see how to learn. Doing that makes us all teachers. Doesn’t it?
