Coffee in the Morning Wherever I Go
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 7:00 am
Jan and Joanna Inspired Me!
How could I not enjoy getting to work in the morning? Each day when I open the doors to this little blog, I find wonderful minds here to share conversation and coffee. Listen in to one conversation that happen on a day I was traveling, a short two weeks ago.
We talked about the in-between times, the life that happens that is not a big event. Juggling Frogs, offered congratulations on my son’s graduation. Karin H. revealed the news of a quadruple birthday party. Lodewijkvdb pointed with wonder at how human beings have the power to relive the past in our minds. Robert said, ” the best ideas come from, the ones that have nothing to do with work, but with life.” Gary returned to add that we often forget to enjoy the part in between big events. zakman pointed out that with understanding the inbetweens of hard times, we might also find solace. Mike observed that we spend time at big events talking about the inbetweens. GP offered one of her timely quotes that leave me thinking for days
My mind is filled up every morning with such learning. Who else gets to spend coffee with such incredible people every mroning? Even more incredible I am totally able to take my morning coffee friends with me wherever I go.
Thank you all for the life’s breath you give me every morning.

Hi Liz, I love the way that you chose to weave your story around comments and conversation rather than stand-alone posts. It’s so very you.
I found this snippet in the conversation you pointed us towards:
“The in between is where we always meet, isn’t it?”
There’s so much in that, on so many different levels
Joanna
PS The more I try and find time to write comments and read comments the more rewarding I find it, the more I want to share the gems that I find there. It’s not always so totally easy to keep track of them all though. Do you think we can look forward to technical changes that will make it easier for us to follow and join conversations in the future?

Good morning, Liz! It drives me crazy(er) that I can’t seem to make the weekly Open Mike nites anymore - just too many irons going right now.
But I’m with you anyway, reading yours and a few select others’ daily posts, just getting up to speed so I can process what I pick up all day. So I’m there with ya!
Joanna, the short answer to your question is: yes. The long answer is (interrupted due to technical difficulties)

Hi Joanna!
As HART once said “Half the show is in the comments . . .” I believe on this blog almost all of the show is there.
I’m thinking that we should feature out comments more often. I might just start an initiative to do that.

When I type my blog in the morning, my puppy normally jumps on my lap, so, I have to type over him.
I used to try to set him down on the ground, but that doesn’t work. Now, It would feel strange to not have my puppy on my lap as I was typing my morning blog.
-Nice Post

Yep that’s exactly what I mean to say.

This is a great idea! And I agree with Joanna. I love that you did it with comments, it’s so unusual and yet so you, and so smart. It’s another way of saying thank you.
I think I’ll take a shot at the thematic link post challenge as well.

I say: Who else gets to spend coffee with such incredible people every lunchtime
Seems it’s not the time of day that matters. It’s the coffee!

Like turtle friend Robert I would like to be able to join in with the open mike sessions, but alas - sound asleep most of the time.
I was able to join in earlier this year with the ‘pre-sobcon’ sessions, great fun, great conversations every hour.

Yee-Haw! All day Open Mike day - what a great idea! Count me in, Liz!
I hope SOBCon08 will be bit LONGER this time! Even one more day would be wonderful!

You mean besides coming here for my morning inspiration and attempting to keep the cat out of my cereal at the same time? Thinking up great ideas for posts that disappear or never get written by the time I get home from work because I’m too tired.
Sheesh! I just gotta get organized here.
Mornin’ Liz…

Hi Robert!
We’re working on putting more apace all around the main event of SOBCon08 and more time to interact all through it. Lots of working together is the key ingredient this year.

Morning Kirk!
I’m going to make you a tiny pocket journal so that you can quick jot down those ideas . . . that will be part of the company I’m launching in a couple of weeks.
Wait and see.
