Ideas When I Get My Hair Cut

Ideas Everywhere
Yesterday, I got a haircut. While I was waiting I looked through a magazine and took notes. I took notes on articles and on advertisements. When I was through one magazine, I had complete ideas for four blog posts — not counting this one — and 27 phrases that I thought might spark ideas later.
Not bad for just sitting around waiting my turn.
I hate actually reading those magazines in places where I get my hair cut, and there’s never time to get into a good book.

Hi Simcola,
I remember when I changed jobs once and my commute was too short!! I started a plan where I’d hit the shower as soon as I got home, just for the chance to transition a bit longer!
Here’s to a chance to think!!!

Great idea, Liz! I often get ideas from magazines, but usually they’re more directly connected to what I write about. After I read your post, I saw an article in the Wall Street Journal about people in Mumbai living in a partially collapsed building, refusing to leave because the rent is cheap. That inspired me to write my post today about what people are tolerating at their desks everyday.
Now I’m going to keep my antenna up for anything that can inspire me!

That’s exactly it, Claire. I look at what’s there and think “What would my version of that be???”
Great idea by the way. I’m going over to read your post right now.
