Let Go
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 6:04 am
No Strings, No Pain
I had this thought.
What if we all let go?
What if we let go
. . . the ribbons and the strings?
What if we laid down
. . . the burdens and the pains?
Then . . . could we hold each others’ hands?

Liz, your lovely post reminded me of that old saying, “You can’t shake hands with a clenched fist.”

Liz,
You bet we could, and mine’s outstretched to whoever wants to grasp it!

Hi Tammy, Mike and Ariane!
It sounds like a great day to head to Millenium Park to let go of a bunch of balloons! Wouldn’t that just be so much fun!!
Mike said
Ariane, you’re on!
Liz, Millenium Park sounds perfect, because if you tried to let them go here in Phoenix today, they would suffer the same fate as Icarus after about 100 feet of ascent!

Oh, it does sound like so much fun - it’s a wonderful thing I finally come back and you are releasing balloons in the park. It’s perfect.

Hi Mike!
Right after the park, we can the architechtural boat trip down the river that leaves from Navy Pier to cool off!

Hi Tam!

Hi Liz,
How about hitching a ride on one of the sailboats preparing for the Mackinac race this weekend? That’s be a great way to spend the afternoon?

Hey Mike,
If you’re doing some serious sailing, I’ll be at the club waiting for you.
I have this nasty habit of catching the boom with my head.

Hi Liz,
That’s why I like skippering; you’re usuually too far back to get clipped. And I learned that one the hard way! LOL It’s also one of the reasons I like day sailers. Taking a shot from an aluminum spar is a lot easier on the noggin. Plus, on a hot day it’s fun to tip the boat over to have a cooling swim.

Ah yes!
But the deck of a nice restaurant has a wait staff that brings food and beverages . . . and sometimes conversation about the folks out on the boats.

You have a point. Hmm, what did I do with that ascot and commodore’s hat…
ME Strauss said
Well, Mike,
What’ll you be having?
Mike said
I should probably have some nautical concoction like Cutty Sark and Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice, but I think I’ll have a Full Sail Pale Ale (which is more fun to say) instead.

HI Mike,
What lovely choices for a day on the deck! I’ll order now. I’m having the fish.

Okay now I’m totally confused. Liz’s post sparked off thoughts about letting go, but suddenly all this talk of cranberry juice and grilled fish is making me hungry… hehe
As about letting go, at the moment I can only quote something I remember reading:
Faith isn’t faith until that’s all you’re hanging on to.
Makes sense?… hmmm

Zakman,
You are brilliant, and you fill me with hope.
Hope is a gigantic heart.
Clutching isn’t faith. Jumping because you know a net will appear is.

Hi Liz & Friends of food et al.,
To add just a bit on faith…
And, faith is more than two dimensional;
But first, you must act.
Action in faith brings you to its depth;
And, there you will find its truth.

Hi John!
That’s wonderful. Thanks for bringing the reminder that faith is a function of action.

Easy to do with good inspiration.
Thanks Liz,
