Thanks Liz !
I’m thinkin’ the heat’s getting to all those in the U.S., ’cause comments are hard to come by and links are non-existant.

Hi Mike!
It’s good to see you!
I really do think your post is outstanding. That’s why I recommended it.
Mike said
I recommend it too, but it’s been really slow lately in the blogosphere.
Traffics down, comments down, links down, etc.

Mike, brilliant post. Liz, thanks for sharing.
Mike, thanks again for mentioning John E. Powers. I don’t have access to a library, so I googled and came up with what seems to be a decent write-up on the man.

Clicking on the plus symbols takes one to more information. Good stuff.
I’m now off to check out amazon.com … Thanks!

Top 25 marketing blogs and he say’s I don’t qualify.
Check some of the Top 10, which must be friends blogs, as they have ZERO marketing info on them.

Mike,
I did have a curious question.
Mike said
I’ve got more than one question, BUT it’s his blog and his ranking, so it doesn’t matter what we think, but as long as it’s bogus, I’ll not be linking to it.
Mike said
You would have thought a blog with a PR of ZERO would have wanted a link from a PR6 though, wouldn’t you ?
ME Strauss said
You might have thought that, but then that would be good marketing.
Mike said
And he obviously knows nothing about that.
Funny the word commentary had never been brought up til now.
Why the hell would you want to rank blogs that blog about what other blogs had written ?
Why would you not want original content over commentary ?
Kinda link wanting to read quantity or quality. Otherwise why even make the comment that he likes blogs that post 5 times a day about what other people have written ?
An easy decision to remove that one from my feed reader. One less piece of noise to filter.
ME Strauss said
Mike,
I’ve been removing blogs from my feeds like crazy lately. They’re just not saying anything worth reading.
Mike said
Seems to be an epidemic of nothingness.
I’m gonna quit for the night, as I’ve got another industry related blog to get ready to show to it’s company CEO tomorrow.
Maybe more bloggers should try to find a company that needs a blogger and then they wouldn’t run out of something to say or the motivation to blog.
Beats contextual ads all to heck.
Whattaya think ?

Actually .. I liked Chris’s version but Mike’s Graphic definately makes is seem more important and added value to the 2005 post.
It’s all important – what Chris said in his comments is entirely true, and I also can concur that from experience.. I got hit first from technorati and then my own busy season off-line. It’s almost more than an effort .. it’s debating whether it’s worth it at times..
On one of my blogs I didn’t post for a while because I was busy …. The blog nearly died, traffic dropped massively and took a much greater effort to bring it back from the brink than if I had kept it pootling along. I won’t make that mistake again.
But, I like to follow the white rabbit deeper into all the holes .. so, my PetLvr.com blog had a litter of bloggettes this weekend – http://DogLvr.com and http://CatLvr.com

Hi HART,
I liked Chris’s version too, but to me it wasn’t as
friendly.
I read the comment about not posting. I agree, I think that it’s a great way to get readers to stop coming by, especially now that there are so many blogs to read. I’m amazed at how different things are just in one year’s time.

[...] 10 Post Ideas For Businesses That Blog A great post on Simplenomics, found via Successful Blog, talks about what Businesses can blog about if they have a blog. I know that many businesses want to have a blog as a line of communication between their prospective clients and the business, and that can be difficult. You don’t want to be too personal, or too much like a press release page, and so finding topics can cause an amazing amount of stress. [...]
