On Writing: Hesitation, Aspiration, Being – Faith in You and Me
ME Liz Strauss published this at 10:08 pm
I’ve often said that at night people get … more relational.
What’s this fear of being real?
Weren’t we all born authentic?
Why is it such work to get back to the person we are again?
Every day I meet with people who … hesitate.
Do you really want to live what time of your life you have doing that?
Hesitating. … even the word doesn’t look real.
Wouldn’t you rather be …?
How do you bring the music into what you’re feeling?
aspiring
it means breathing toward …
to live for, to breathe for, to be for
something you believe in?
I have faith in you, in me.
Let’s be that.

I like your writing this evening (well, actually, I always like everything you write) but especially, when you asked, “How do you bring the music into what you’re feeling?” It reminded me of a nagging feeling that I have of feeling like I am a symphony waiting to be written (just can’t find my notes!)

Hi Carol!
Ah symphony! That word is showing up a lot for me. I hear something recently about folks who die with the music still in them. I have a symphony in my head/heart still waiting to get translated.
I think you should pay attention to that nagging feeling. Follow it. I suspect it’s been around since you were much shorter.

Liz,
This post was so in tune with what I needed to hear this morning. I think we get so caught up in creating the music that we think others want to hear from us for acceptance and competitive reasons that we don’t instead focus on practicing to master our own symphony. Loved this post today!
Thanks for impacting my life in numerous ways. I can’t thank you enough. Judy

Hi Howard!
Thank you for taking time to say that.
Everyone needs encouragement for an unusual post.

off to go do exactly that – I’ve been resisting writing for the last 25 minutes, surfing about, and your post was a loving slap to get back to it. Thanks!

Hi Judy!
Our own symphony is what we’re here to share. Only we can hear it … only we can set the rhythm and the unique melody free.

Hey Jennifer!
Welcome! I’m delighted and thrilled that this morning I was able to share something that was valuable to you! Love that you’ve got a reason to write again!

“aspiring…it means breathing toward”
Liz, you simply took my breath away!

Hi Liz.
Aspiring means breathing toward. Boy I like that!
It’s like graduating toward college, toward life, rather than from something. The process of becoming requires us to ‘breathe toward’ I think.
To answer your question, the music is already there… even on the quietest days.
I haven’t thought much about the word hesitate. But then maybe I shouldn’t think about it at all…
Lots of stuff in this short post.
Have a happy day, Liz.

Hi Jeanne!
Thank you! I remind myself of that often. One of my favorite saying is that I aspire to living my intentions.

Hi Barb,
I know your music is already there. I’ve talked to you about it. Mine too.
Don’t hesitate to aspire … we’re meant to do something great while we’re here. We need to let our great things flow.
