Personal Identity: What’s Your Mini-Intro?
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 6:29 am
What Would I Say? What Would You Say?
It was my second or third trip to Brighton, England. Richard, Stephen and I were sitting at lunch, discussing business. Stephen is a friend and publishing partner I had met many times. We were discussing who would be at an upcoming book fair.
I described a person I thought Stephen would enjoy meeting.
The conversation changed course when Stephen said, “So, what’s my mini-bio?”
I tilted my head with a look and asked, “What do you mean?”
He replied, “From the minute I met you, every time you mention a person I don’t know you give a mini-intro. I’m wondering what you use for mine?”
I answered with the qualities that struck me as most him. “You’re, Stephen, proper, poised, and the most positive-natured editor I know.”
This morning, I woke up thinking about those mini-intros. I need a good “hello” for some folks I’m meeting this afternoon.
I was thinking it might be fun to introduce each other and to ourselves.
I’ll go first. My answer is in the comment box.
Introduce yourself and introduce a friend too.

Hmm, I’d give it a try, but everything else I’d say besides “Hi, I’m Alina, I talk 24×7. Here are some of my friends who do the same” would make those who know me disagree
Kidding..or not

Hi Alina.
That’s so fun! I’d answer, “Talk to me.”

Hey Tanny,
I love purple too. Green and purple go well together.

I’m Lorelle. I’m drumming a beaded drum, dancing to tunes creating by my friend, Liz, who dances beside me wearing gold and black sequences which shimmer in the night of my day.

This turns out to be harder than it seems. I see the world in a unique way, and love to share it in fun (and useful) ways.
Sound about right?

Hey Lorelle, You’re too funny! [dances away]
ME Liz Strauss said
Ah Mike, sounds just like you, but you left out the courage, humor, and truly genuine care for others that are the trademark of your personality.

That was the “fun” part, but I’ll be sure to elaborate next time.
Thanks, Liz!

Ah Mike,
I know you. You’re too generous to toot your own horn.

Hi I’m Lauren and I like to teach people about what I do, graphic design. It’s exciting to me when other people understand something they never did or see things in a different way than before (and that’s not just graphic design related).
ME Liz Strauss said
Hey LaurenMarie,
You do that every time you come around here. It’s only ONE of the reasons I so value your visits.
