Questions to Get Closer to You: Question 7

published this at 6:00 am

Get Closer to You

This is a series of questions, I don’t know how many. They are the ones I ask when I help folks get closer to their personal identity.

What one thing might you do to make your life simpler?

I’ll answer first to get things started.

I’m going to slow down and breathe more. Clean my desk every morning before I start.

Liz, One thing I will do to make life simpler is going to hill station or some cool country every three months with family(my parents). This will make life simpler and tension free. I guess I answered your question properly because I sometimes get confused and take a question in a different sense. :)

    Hi Ram!
Getting away to get rid of stresss is a great way to simplify your life. I applaud you for knowing that. :)

I’d walk more… Not only does it give me a chance to reflect, but nature inspires me. Benefits are there, too. Added oxygen boosts my brain. If I walk to the store, I can save gas as well.

    Hi Robyn,
Reflection is so important. It brings us back to ourselves. I’m with you on that.

    Strike it rich! ;-)

Oh, you mean one thing I could do right now? I think that would be to remind myself several times a day of who I am and what I’m doing here in this life. That provides focus to know what NOT to do.

    Hi Mike!
Keeping priorities straight is great simplifier, isn’t it? Looking in the mirror is a way to do that too. :)

    Liz,

The mirror option is a good one, but a little too scary for me! LOL

I’m not sure if it would make my life simpler, but it might make it more organised (Which would probably make it simpler. :) ).

I want to try out a few different productivity tips, like ordered to-do lists and such.

I think you’re right Michael, productivity tips do usually make our lives feel simple — they take things off our minds. :)

It doesn’t make my life simpler, but richer. :)

Now seriously… Life IS simple and yet, nothing really makes life simpler. Let’s not miss the challenge…

    Hi Mihaela!
I’d chat with you more often. I bet that WOULD make my life simpler. It would keep me thinking about the things I love. :)

Then I’d quit overwhelming myself so that I could focus on the challenge . . . that seems simpler to me. :)

i have a strong feeling that if i followed the “getting things done” principle, my life would be much easier. but it seems like such a huge task! (shudder)

an easy thing would be to go back to answering my emails only three times a day and having a computer free day at least once a month.

    Hi Isabella!
I fall in love with such systems then they don’t work for me . . . my brain structures things differently. So I use an old teacher’s plan book with big open boxes to write in. :)

I’m adding structure to what I write too. :)

Keep up with my Yoga. It makes me feel amazing and allows my mind to stay focused. The breathing helps me to relax and the meditation helps me to stay mindful and in tune with who I truly am.

Without it my body feels tight and slow, my mind feels overactive and my soul feels empty.

I’m finding an afternoon chance at meditation is having the same effect. Being mindful is so life-giving. :)
