Questions to Get Closer to You: Question 9

ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 8:04 am

Get Closer to You

This is a series of questions, I don’t know how many. They are the ones I ask when I help folks get closer to their personal identity.

What three words describe your quest this year?

I’ll answer first to get things started.

This year these words are important to me . . .

focus on making stronger contracts and more meaningful

connections / relationships between people and ideas

so that I’m unambigous about my value and still generous about me.

We share one in common, Liz!

Focus on my priorities in the right order.

Remember where I’ve come from and how I got to where I am.

    Plan for the future.

    Hi Mike!
I so support what you wrote. We all look forward to what you add to every discussion. Why do you think I call you for your opinion on what I’m thinking about doing next?

    You’re a valuable one. :)

    Hi Jesse!
Terry and I were just talking the other day about how marvelous you are!

Great to hear that focus is keyword for you too. I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s been feeling a little diffused.

I like how you’ve got the past, present, and future covered in all three of your words. :)

I am sorry I shud have probably used my words in a sentence, so here it goes,

I would like to focus in what I am doing so I can grow both as a blogger and as a person while offering help to anyone I can.

Liz, am sorry for two comments.

    Liz,

Thank you. I meant ‘realize’ in all senses of the word. You and Jesse both hit on a really important word: focus. If I’d gotten four words that would have been it. My three-word recipe for getting things done is focus, plan, communicate. If you can do those three well, your likelihood of success rises dramatically.

    Hi Liz

Great question. But questions that make us focus are always great.
The three words that keep appearing in my brand new business and strategy plan are:
    building strong -er- relationships

(And since I can never separate business and personal goals, is that bad?, it describes my personal focus)

    Make More money :-)

No, seriously, that’s not it. Money is always on my mind because we need a certain amount to survive, but it’s never my top priority.

    I’d say it’s:

Stress: always looking to reduce it.

    Relationships: always need to strengthen

    Learning: never enough time..

No apologies necessary, use the comments any way that explains what you need to say. I’m delighted that you came back to write a sentence. I understand your quest more fully my seeing your words in context. It’s a noble one! Yea!!

I’ve felt my stress go down immeasurably since we started this conversation about how to take back control. :)

You’ve been instrumental in that. So thank you for

    • lowering my stress
    • strenghtening every one of my relationships, including ours
    • letting me learn from you.

I’ve got “focus” in mine too. The other two are “energy” and “adventure”. I can play around with them to create lots of focused, energised and adventurous sentences, and who knows what adventures that’ll lead me to…

I agree: focusing is important. However, it’s not something I can do :-)

Tomorrow I’m posting (at my site) an explanation of why I cannot and why that’s OK..
