The Buzz Bin talks about elegant communication.
It occurs to me that whether it’s in person, using traditional tools, or here in the echo chamber (a.k.a. social media) that great communications remain difficult. Why? Because it’s not the toolset; it’s not the ability to be friendly; and it’s definitely not a personal brand. On the contrary, simplicity matters more …

The Art of Great Communications: Simplicity

The Harte of Marketing talks what’s important as we grow.
But how about when the conversation is no longer touched by the person/company that created it? It could be because they just don’t have the time to engage in the conversation or that they just chose not to.

Is Social Media scalable?

Biz Coach Deb talks about customer service as the “new marketing.”
Ordinarily when a business drops the ball, we’re not really surprised any more, and it appears to be the general sentiment with American consumers, especially in certain industries.

Train for Humanity talks marathons … again!
After approximately twelve weeks of Train for Humanity and with two events down (read about Dan’s race and Mark’s race), we have one more endurance event to go before closing out phase one.

I’m really digging The Art of Great Communication post. I think it hit’s the fundamentals right on the nail.

To the #5: Great Headlines, I would elaborate more on the presentation part. Headlines are important, but the overall looks of the blog/newsletter/etc. combined with a solid image is a sure-fire trap for people’s curiosity.

Once they’re trapped, you knock their socks off with genuinely valuable content, transparency, and rapport.

thanks for the articles liz. It sparked some ideas on my business. I liked the treat me bad and I’ll come back. It’s true if you can just show the customer how genuine you are to get things right then they will come back.

The fact of the matter is that every business is going to fail. The key is to make up for it in such a way that the customer can not doubt your loyalty to them.

    Hey StoryboardLife,
I’ve sure had my share of missteps and personal failures. Learning how to get things back on track is more than good manners or even customer service. It’s relationships, respect, and a chance to make something stronger from what went wrong.

I particularly like what you said about leaving no doubt about your loyalty to customers who come back.

Surprise? I’m like Chuck Norris, who destroyed the periodic table of elements because the only element he believes in is surprise.

    Alex,
Now there’s a surprise … I never expected to hear about Chuck Norris and the periodic table in the same sentence. I think I’d better take something for that.

The theory of evolution states that only the strong survive, so don’t take anything, and just see what happens.

    Speaking of theory of evolution…

There is NO theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.
