Many people have called me s.o.b.
I’m not sure I want to have a badge claiming to be one.

    Hi Volkher,
You have to take a conversation from here, and mention what we talked about linking back to Successful blog. It explains it there up in the sidebar where it says Successful and Outstanding Bloggers, under my name.

I am Simply Proud to wear mine.

I even kinda like the SB teal green against my Simply Red.

Scriv-dawg, my blog friend, you have a winner here…be good to her.

Thanks, Liz, for creating a community that has a Badge of Honor.

I’m gonna do a post, after Survivor, to tell everybody where and how to get one of their own.

    Hi Mike,
I sent Mr, Mike Rundle an email today with a link to your site and Martin’s so that he could see how the buttons looked up at the castle sites. He wrote back one word:
    Niiiiiice.
That’s very cool, Mike. I think you’re a tried and true SOB.

    Thanks Liz,

To be serious, it’s been a tough day/night. Lots of nastyiness going around the blogosphere that’s turning quite threatening (re: Darren from ProBlogger is taking the brunt of it).

little bit disillusioned by it all (and some people) so I’m throwing away my blogging pen for the weekend to recharge my batteries for a full on assult come Monday.

Any excuse for a drinking session at the local, eh :-)

Seems that many bloggers are very immature, unknowledgeable and plain dumb.

For the most part, they have very little business experience and we seem to have more than our share of those that used to be forum fools.

Maybe their mommies won’t renew their hosting in 2006 and the adults can carry on conversations without the kiddies crying so loud.

BTW - not aiming at Martin, but at all the less than mature bloggers out there that can only blog “about” other peoples blogs and what they should do. Like they freakin’ know.

    ME Strauss said

    You hang out here, Martin,
    I haven’t been paying attention.
I guess that’s the one way this darn MIT engineer book is a godsend. It keeps my head down and away from such things.

Sorry to hear about any nastiness going on. Some of it has to be the stress of taking so many blogs live at once.

    What’s got you down?

    Not enough Jack Daniels?
    Liz

    Mike,
    You sure have a point.
I went through something of a culture shock coming over here from my personal blog. We just don’t deal with such stuff over in my neighborhood. When we blog about other bloggers it’s about what their writing about or how good at what they do.

That thing with getting stalked and flamed last month was something out of the forum boards fromm 1992. I forgot that those things happened.

Seems like we should put all those guys in one room and let them figure out who’s bigger.

    Liz

  15. December 8th, 2005 at 8:54 pm
    Martin said

Probably not enough Jack D ;-)

No, the nastiness is more to do with the Chitika fiasco and “real” personal threats being made. Best not to say anything more and add fuel to the fire (you can always email me Liz if you can keep a confidence).

    Mike said

    Uh, that would be me.

I had one fool get after me and say some things in an email.

I pointed out the fact that I’m 6′2′, 245, ex-boxer, ex-Airborne Infantryman and current Redneck-From-Wayback. Also mentioned that I have enough liquid capital to travel to his doorstep and ‘eliminate’ any noises that trouble me.

    No peeps since then.

Guido and his brother would see the red dot and then see nothing….( insert pirate laugh here )maybe enough time to say ” Oh Shi…”. Maybe not.

    Hey,
Real personal threats? Online? That’s scary.
I understand why you don’t want to talk about it.

I’ve got better things to do, like adding to and learning how to grow my own blogs…so I don’t have time to police any of the other networks.

We need fewer blog cops and more community builders.

Just a quick one to your answer waaaaay above …

    I did get the concept.
My response was supposed to be a joke.
    Hence the smiley.

I’ve been flooded with work today and have actually come up with a design that stems directly from the conversation we had the other day!

Once it is finished (next millennium), I’ll post it here first. Thanks for getting my synapses realigned.

Off to see some stupid, brain-dead grade-zilch film … my head needs a break.

    Cheers!
