Technorati Has a Birthday and We Get the Present!

ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 10:21 am

Customer-Centered Technorati!

In honor of their third anniversary as a company, Technorati has rolled out a major upgrade. The billboard that Technorati has changed their view to customer-centered is that when you sign in, you’ll find the home page is about you, your blogs, and what you might find interesting — not about Technorati.

I’m already liking these changes.

Check out this tool for business blogging, blog promotion, and branding. You can read about it and see a video of the features at Sifry’s Alerts by clicking on this title.

Technorati turns 3

Happy Birthday, Technorati! Thank you, David and Technorati, for the present!

Holy Smokes! I was just in there this morning and I didn’t see any of this. They made the change over quick-like.

Dang if I don’t agree with you Liz. This roll-out is a huge improvement over what they had before. Wow!

Liz, since you are such a word person, what’s your take on them changing Explore with the term Discover?

My first thought is that they wanted folks to know that they have changed it in some way. So they had to give it a new name or people would assume it was the same thing as before.

Explore connotes a little more work — Lewis and Clark over the mountain stuff. Discover connotes a little more surprise — Disneyland and Discovery Channel — sit back relax we’ll bring it to you.

Ah, the lazy human approach. Better marketing. Makes sense to me.

    You always make me smile!

Rumor has it they considered calling that feature “Jack,” but then thought that “Discover ” was better. Go figure. :)

Looks like lots of cool stuff that i am yet to play with there.

I celebrated by actually claiming my other blogs! It was a heat of the moment thing nearly scuttled when i couldn’t remember my password (yet again)

    Hi Greg,
Oh yes, the password thing. I freeze every time I’m asked to put one in. Is it guilt that makes me think that even though I know mine, it won’t work?
