ARE YOU READY TO KICK IT UP A NOTCH?
The slideshow of the Brand New Blog Feeling went up earlier this afternoon. It was a thrill making it, because as I worked with captions and photos it seemed as if I got know the people who sent them in.
What was also a thrill was explaining to the folks I work with at YUDU Digital Publishing how they might be a collaborative active part of what we’re doing on our blogs. They “get” it. That’s very cool.
And as a result, today I’m announcing how the contest that just ended has spurred another one.
YUDU It! to Win a YUDU PLUS ProAccount or a MacBook Air!
If you join in an make a simple slide show of 5-10 slides, your show will be judged by a team from YUDU.com and the top entry will receive a YUDU PLUS account. That’s a big deal, believe me. A YUDU Plus Account unlocks some even cooler features, that are coming to market just this week. YUDU PLUS includes these treats and more. You can
- Do ecommerce. Put your documents, music and special photos up for Sale and name your Price.
- Have automatic document protection that helps Prevent Copying and sharing with people who haven’t paid.
- Make professional documents with mutlimedia embeds using YUDU Plus editing suite. Upload a New Cover; rearrange, Add or Delete pages, select different Language toolbars, change Backgrounds, add Page Links and link Photos and text to external websites.
- Embed your library in your Website or blog, and when get collect 10% of the signup fee.
The YUDU contest for the MacBook Air requires signing up friends. BUT as part of this YUDU It! contest if you tag your entry Blogger 908, you’ll be automatically entered to for a chance to win without having to pull out that address book.
Here’s what you need to know . . .
I did it. I made two slideshows just this week. It’s your turn — will YUDU it now for a chance at:
YUDU PLUS account valued at US$180
and
A MacBook Air? Or maybe just to see how well you do with YUDU.
You know what I mean.
BTW, YUDU is looking for beta testers for this new launch. If you’re interested, please email me.

2008 Labor Day Blog-Lib Link Love Stories — Brilliant!!
Filed Under Successful Blog, Writing, ZZZ-FUN | 5 Comments
Thanks for Participating!
It was fun last year, and this year was no disappointment.
The challenge was to get creative by finishing the story in an unexpected using a blogger’s name, a trait, a post title, a blog title and linking back with some love for all of them.
I promised I’d present your story links back to you in my own way.
Here we go. . .
Notes from a Dented Reality
I was Going my own way, walking my own walk, but The Journey turned out to be a boatload of WritingAdventures in Self-Discovery.
I saw a sultry, silent supermodel with a smarty-pants, speaking duck making a Chris Brogan list about 50 ways Liz loves Labor Day Blog Lib Link Love.
Meanwhile, bloggers were wandering aimlessly and asking, “Has?” And others were answering, “Has what?” That sort of thing can happen when you don’t get expert Writing Advice from the Blogosphere.
As a result, two thousand people decided to take up Labor Day Blogging.
No one seemed to notice the group in a candlelit corner talking in whispers. I was sure they were conspiring to plan a surprise birthday party for someone’s sister, but they said they were finding ways to lighten their burdens whileLiving Life’s Labor.
Wow! Go figure. Maybe I need more self-development than I had thought.
End of story.
Follow the links above to read some great stories of Labor Day Link love in the blogosphere.
Thanks again, everyone who played along.

The Case of the Err-ant Blog Post
Filed Under Successful Blog, ZZZ-FUN | 14 Comments
It Didn’t Seem Adventurous When I Wrote It
Yesterday, I followed my promise. I took my time and worked at a fine leisurely pace, seriously to attending to what I had to accomplish. I finished things that had been towering over me. In fact, I found a few minutes to fit in a couple of new things.
This morning, I find . . . well actually I didn’t find one of the blog posts I’d put together. Apparently though my all-too-human error, I left some door open for that missive to crawl away like an ant striking out across the virtual desert.
Thus, the Case of the Err-ant Blog Post. If you see a tiny ant-like thing wander across your screen in the next hour or so, could you direct it back this way? After that, let it keep going. I’ll have already replaced it.
Don’t you hate it when inanimate objects don’t behave?

Labor Day Blog-Lib Link Love Again!!
Filed Under Community, Successful Blog, ZZZ-FUN | 19 Comments
It was fun last year. Wanna play again?
- Copy the unfinished story below into your post box.
- Fill in the blanks to finish the story. For most of the blanks use a blogger’s name, a trait, a post title, a blog title — get creative. Finish each sentence in an unexpected way. You can find plenty of links to spark your imagination at the A-Z directory.
- Link the text you added back to the blog or blogger you’re referencing.
- Be creative. Change the words or storyline as you wish in order to fit in the links you like.
- When you’re done, leave a link with the title to your version of the story in the comment box below.
I’ll gather up the links you leave as I always do. You’ve got until 2pm CST on Thursday, September 6, 2007 — see the clock in my sidebar — to leave your link here in the comment box.
My version of the story follows the blank one.
______
I had _____ , but I was looking for _____. An adventure was in order.
A couple of galaxies down and one nebula over, I entered _____ . I saw ____ making a Chris Brogan list with ____ about 50 ways to ____ .
Nearby ___ was _____ and ___ had just ____ .
Meanwhile, some _____ were wandering aimlessly and asking, “Has anyone found ____ ?”
No one seemed to notice the group in a candlelit corner. Dressed in black, in cognito, ___ held a rendezvous with ____ , and ____ . Rumor has it they were plotting to _______ .
The meeting of folks from ____ broke into conflict with ____ over ____.
That seemed HUGE until ______ .
______ couldn’t shut up about that _____. As a result, two thousand people decide to _____, _____, and we heard ____ for days after.
_____ reported that, “It’s simply ____ .”
My own perspective is ______.
End of story.
The gaping void of the CyberSaloon
I had more than 45 things to get done, but I was looking for 1 Good Reason to forget all about them. An adventure was in order.
A couple of galaxies down and one nebula over I entered a place called Serenity Quest. I saw Plain Jane Mom making a Chris Brogan list with Photo Matt about 50 ways to Pick the Brain of or the guy who writes the blog that was on their screen at the moment.
Nearby TAXGIRL was ordering a Technical Bliss and Invincibelle had just ordered a jaffee juice.
Meanwhile, some Remarkable Parents were wandering aimlessly and asking, “Has anyone found a way to have a Life Beyond Code ?”
No one seemed to notice the group in a candlelit corner. Dressed in black, in cognito, Copyblogger held a rendezvous with Chartreuse (BETA), and Another Blogger. Rumor has it they were plotting to kidnap Guy Kawasaki and sell Alltop on the blog black market.
The meeting of folks from The Artsy Asylum broke into conflict with Buzzoodle Buzz Marketing over the principles of Confident Writing.
That seemed HUGE until Queen of Spain walked in on the arm of the Tracksuit CEO.
TwitterStars couldn’t shut up about that Internet Moment. As a result, two thousand people decided to eMail Our Military with the story, Lorelle fell off WordPress, and we heard obscure Ramblings from a Glass Half Full for days after.
PR 2.0 reported that, “It’s a matter of getting the rhythm of Life in Perpetual Beta.”
My own perspective is Genuine Curiosity proves out that Geeks are Sexy. Still, be aware. If you traverse Global Neighbourhoods and the gapingvoid of a CyberSaloon, it’s all too possible you might find yourself among the confused of calcutta.
Which isn’t altogether such a bad place to be.
End of story.
