On a Friday Morning, When Among Other Things . . .
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 8:31 am
On a Friday mroning when among other things, I will be meeting some really important people — every one of them. . . . I sit here with my laptop, thinking about what a lucky a person I am. Like the rest of us, when wrote that first blog post– who knows when ago? — i had no idea that anything like this would ever come of it.
Yet here I am, deleting a sentence I just spent a good hour editing. What I was trying to say in too many words was that I’ve changed and that folks who’ve known me are noticing.
“Wow, you did that differently than you would have done that a year or two ago.”
“I don’t have time for grown ups who act like spoiled brats anymore. Too many good folks are worth worrying about.”
“Blogging has been good for you.”
Everyone who reads my blogs has had a hand in that growth. Everyone has taught me.
On a Friday morning, with my laptap again in front of me I am wondering. Who would have thought anything like this might have been come of it?
I never dreamed I would fall in love.

Hey there! I’m at the airport waiting to board the plane now. I’m a little in awe of this whole blogging thing myself. Last year at this time I never would dream I’d be performing at a blog conference for a group of REALLY cool people. I’m really excited for a new adventure…

Not I. My post on the Blog Apocalypse sums up my awe:
I started Gitr’s WoW Blog on Blogger back in 2005 with no hopes or aspirations of anything cool, other than journaling my journey with my computer character through my newest game. Little did I know that I would start getting traffic from Google, getting a domain, and becoming known as Gitr around the world.
Find something that you enjoy. Plant that seed and let it grow. Watch it blossom and branch out into something that you care about and that others come to sit under its shady canopy. Then give those seeds to others to plant and have their own refuges to let others come to. Pass the love. Share the joy.

Two years ago, and what a journey it has been.
It’s been the people I’ve met and interacted with that has been the most enjoyable aspect of blogging. Plus, learning new things and seeing different perspectives from other people.
Liz — you’ve helped a lot!
All the best to the cool people able to make it to SOBCon07! Make sure you enjoy the day.

Hey Liz, I just checked into the hotel room. I figured I would stop by and say hi here real quick. It’s nearly 4pm here in Chicago. I think it’s time to run around and meet people. See you soon!
