Wikipedia Called Us Nonsense

So maybe you were around when we got mired in the labyrinth of the Wikipedia, or when we tried to find out why an article, written by Martin Neumann of the Small Office Herald about the Link Leak Virus, a term coined by Mike Sigers, was summarily deleted within minutes of it’s submission.

I actually wrote to Wikipedia about the situation. The official Wikipedia response to my email said I’d get a response in a few minutes . . . that was over 13 days ago. Hope the young man took food and water with him. A reader friend let us know that some editor said that it was “nonsense.” Kudos to the Advice Librarian who helped us make sense of everything.

We at Successful Blog needed that. We hadn’t had our ideas or our writing called nonsense by a stranger who didn’t know us for a very long while.

Mike coined the Link Leak Virus. Easton started Blogtipping. Every Saturday, I get to thank you in the nicest way I can think of, and sometimes this old blog springs leaks at unexpected times.

This past week, Darren introduced the concept of Link Lust with the question, If you could GET 3 links who would you want to get them from? I didn’t really think about it, until I ran into the question on another SOB’s blog. Then I felt like answering the question there. Even more exciting and mystifying . . . within 24 hours one of the three links I lusted after happened. I actually got linked!

Remember the post Link Love Raises Your Property Value? Easton Ellsworth invented a Link Love Event called Blogtipping the very next week–the blogosphere was starting to share links. It was so cool. It was made a monthly thing.

Mike Sigers named this phenomena Link Leak.

What Is Link Leak?

Mike Sigers wrote a post explaining Link Leak. He said it was for Martin Neumann at the Small Office Herald, who then named it the Link Leak Project.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Sigers’ own blog started springing leak after leak.
