Link Love for Making Things Brighter
Today I’m celebrating official Blogtipping Day. How about you? As the song goes “Give a little bit . . .” Here’s how it works.
- Choose three bloggers you admire and link to them.
- List three reasons why you admire each one.
- Then add a tip at the end.
That’s all there is to it.
Phil Gerbyshak
- When it comes to positivity, Phil, you are the REAL THING. No question.
- On and off your blog, Make It Great! you take genuine pleasure in the success of others. You’re not shy about saying so.
- I’ve read your entire blog. Your ideas are compelling. You write well and with passion. You are one in a million.
Tip: Keep some of that energy just for Phil. Don’t ever forget that folks who know you are with for the long haul.
Dr. Kirsten Harrell, Psy. D.
- The Think Positive Blog is popping with energy. I feel it as soon as I click in there.
- Kirsten, you are the same way. It comes through in every blog post you write and in all of your ipopin affirmations.
- You’ve brought a bundle of positive insights to discussions throughout the blogosphere. I always look forward to your comments when you visit here.
Tip: You have so much to offer. My only tip is that we want more.
Troy Worman
- Anyone who’s been to Orbit Now knows that it’s a positively amazing place. It’s always changing in a way that makes me look forward to going there for a fresh new outlook. I find myself re-reading nuggets of wisdom, just to stay a little longer.
- Troy, you have a positive world view that is creative, clever, and contagious. And interwoven through that is a quite dose of compassion.
- You and your blog are a category of one. It’s a category worth keeping.
Tip: I think your “I want to be your mentor idea” is fabulous. Please ask for help if you need to find people to sign up.
Thanks to all three of you for bringing positivity to the blogosphere. I’m smiling just to think of the contribution you make.

Ode to Easton the Blogtipping Man (Part 4)
Filed Under Community, Links, Successful Blog, ZZZ-FUN | 10 Comments
Part 4 of 4
Easton was dressed in a nice clothes — not college-kid rags,
But his clothes were a cloud of Technorati tags.
His backpack was full of compliments for handing out freely,
He was a blogger, on a mad posting spree.
His words-how they tickled! His remarks, oh, how insightful!
He could devise a surprise that was truly delightful!
Blogtipping was a phenomena, an artist’s creation!
Throughout the blogdom, blogtipping was now an occasion.
Yet Easton, the Blogtipping Man, didn’t know,
That bloggtipping day, we wait for him to show.
We know he’ll come to leave that one comment,
To say that he saw it. We wait to see what he says!
He slides into the comment box leaving a word,
And next thing you know, only laughter is heard!
Easton says: “Good job. I guess, it’s all in the wrist,â€
And you wonder, Where does that guy get lines like this?
Then he springs to his blog, to his fans gives that smile,
And he’s gone before you can say, “Come back in awhile.â€
But I saw him post once in very tiny, fine print,
“I love blogs. I love blogging. I love bloggers!
(and I just made you squint)”

No Doubt — A Positively Great Day . . . for One Reason
Filed Under Branding, Business Life, Community, Successful Blog | 28 Comments
I had the pleasure of spending yesterday with SOB, Relationship Geek, and “10 Ways to Make It Great!”man, Phil Gerbyshak.
It was — no doubt — a positively, great day.
All things considered, that’s saying something. Some folks I know could have, would have — no doubt — made that same day into a positively awful drama.
Tiny facts might have thrown folks off track for a moment . . .
- The traffic coming down from Milwaukee was less than easy — I got in Phil’s car 10 minutes AFTER his speech was supposed to have started.
- The gentleman at the venue was out of reach — no way to alert him.
- I went to find a parking lot. Phil went on up to speak. His dress shirt was still in the trunk.
You get the picture . . .
Phil’s comments were acknowledgments of help. “You’re the best,” and “Cool.” I heard no negative comment all day.
He said, “I”ll wear the shirt to work tomorrow.”
We had a great lunch, great conversation, and made some great plans. None of which would have happened if those mishaps had become the way we saw the day.
That’s why I started this by saying . . .
I had the pleasure of spending yesterday with Phil Gerbyshak.
It was — no doubt — a positively great day . . . for one reason.
Today, I want to be someone’s reason for having a positively, great day..

Successful-Blog OR Dancing in Sheba? . . . It’s All So Confusing
Filed Under Business Life, Marketing, SOB Business, Successful Blog, ZZZ-FUN | 31 Comments
Dear Lonny,
I got your trackbacks today. Oh, thank you so much. You were so generous. I’m not used to so many trackbacks. It was a little confusing at first, but I’m used to that. Confusion is a natural state for me. I’m a small-town girl.
Then I got to thinking about so many things. . .
Joe’s always talking about the time warp here at Successful-Blog. People often mistake me for someone else. Mixed-up links sometimes happen at Technorati, and there’s some current Internet “weirdnesses.” (What happens if net neutrality loses?) Heck, put them all together, and the whole thing makes sense. At least to me it does. It just took a while.
I wonder, is there a way to return trackbacks? I think you may have trackbacked the wrong person.
I think the person you meant to link is a few ages back and a few URLs over. Her name is the Queen of Sheba. Could that be it?
The title is what has me worried . . .
“Gotta Do the Dance” sounds more like the Queen of Sheba, . . . I’m betting she made people dance. whenever she wanted. They say she had an huge army (and hairy legs too.)
Dancing has always been optional at Successful-Blog. (Except for that once at 3 in the morning that we don’t talk about.) Folks can sit by the sidebar, sing all night, or dance ’til they drop. We once had a juggler. Mostly we swap links of weird pictures. I let the world turn without me telling it how to.
I’m just a saloonkeeper’s daughter.
People who hang out here are regular folks — except for the code-writing donkey and the moose who stops in now and then. Those two are special, but they don’t dance either — that I know of.
What I’m sayin’ is, if you wanna be an SOB . . . we don’t really dance much. I don’t want you to have the wrong idea. Well, Starbucker does, and Christine, and me — but that’s all I know of, at the moment.
Anyway, the Queen would probably agree that . . . .
the Successful and Outstanding Bloggers are the best standard for what an SOB should be now. The SOBs here are Successful and Outstanding People. (OK maybe the hairy-leg Queen has her own definition . . . I feel sure that Solomon would see things the way that I do.)
Phil has the best word for it – We’re all “Relationship Geeks.”
Aw, but then, you knew that . . .
Wait a minute. What was I thinking? You were just playing with me this whole time. Weren’t ya?
Like I said, confusion is a natural state for me.
Stop by the blog when you’re in this time warp. We’ve always got beverages and snacks in the sidebar, and pizza! Food’s free. Maybe you’ll hang out and talk a while. . . . get to know us. How about Tuesday at 7pm Chicago time?
A saloonkeeper’s daughter,
PS. Hope you don’t mind the link post. I got confused trying to turn on your comments. See ya’ soon, I hope. Dancing is optional or did I say that? ![]()
