Well it’s not a class, not really. It’s a wealth of information on how measurement works.

Audience/Topic: Anyone who wants to know what’s going on with his or her blog
Content: SeanRox at HaveLaptopWillTravel invited Doug Karr as a Guest writer to offer an overview of E-Metrics for blogs tailored to the laidbaid, data-minded geek with social skills. (That’s our friend Sean.) I’ve read the report. It’s an amazing resource — specifically geared to WordPress, Google Analytics, and Feedburner.
The language is well-written and easy to follow — lot’s to be learned in every word of it. Doug describes it this way.
This guide to Blogging E-Metrics Simplified is a basic overview of:
How to implement web analytics into your blog using Google Analytics.
How to implement feed analytics into your blog using FeedBurner.
How to measure your blog’s impact using Google Analytics.
How to improve your blog’s impact.

Thanks, SeanRox. Thanks, Doug. Good Stuff!

Trackbacks coming into and going out of Successful-Blog have been mystically enchanted. I am unable to know where they go, when they go, or get word when they’ve been sent to me as well. A famous blogger is helping me sort out this mystery . . . film at 11 on the SETI channel.
Until then, please know that issues at Technorati — links are disappearing for no reason — and WordPress –trackbacks aren’t coming in or going out– have made it hard for me to know about your generosity. If you haven’t heard a word about a connection or gesture you’ve made, please email me — lizsun2 at gmail [dot] com so that I can drop by and properly ay, “thanks.”

Meet David, at Blogging Pro
David Peralty at Blogging Pro is someone you might call a Blogging Evangelist. Blogging Pro keeps track of the latest news, particularly in the world of WordPress and Movable Type. They’re a resource for themes and hacks and tips for bloggers. Today’s post is a typical example. Click on the title to get the the article.
David has a deep interest in blogging and bloggers. He’s also a bit concerned.
Are You Up for a Challenge?
This week David and I exchanged emails. He told me about a challenge he’s laid down. He’s hoping to reinvigorate the WordPress community and perhaps encourage some new theme and plugin creators.
I recently posed a challenge on BloggingPro.com to WordPress theme and plugin creators in hopes of getting those sitting on the sidelines to get working on something new for Wordpress. I was wondering if you would mention the challenge on your site, as many of the people that read your site might be those on the sidelines, looking for extra exposure, and posessing the talents to really produce something great.
I’m not only mentioning the challenge. I’m going to be talking about it, when I interview David in the next post about it.
You can read more about the challenge in this post at BloggingPro. While you’re there, bookmark the site. It’s a great reference for any blogger’s toolkit. Click on the title to get the the article.
David is one interesting, dedicated blogger. I think you’ll enjoy getting to know him.

Wordpress or Movable Type

Discussion: Wordpress vs. Movabletype
It’s an ongoing issue. As two of the biggest players, who often go head to head, it’ll be debated until the cows come home. What platform is better? Movable Type or Wordpress. There are some good points being made on both sides over at Darren’s Blog and it’s an interesting discussion to follow as it can really show you the pros and cons of these two popular blogging platforms.
For my part, I don’t have a preference. They both do some things well, and others not so well.
