Does It Have To Be Perfect?

August 24, 2008 by Guest Author

On our beach walk on Saturday,
I asked Des this question.

Do you sometimes wonder why
you aren’t meeting the goals
you have set yourself and
may have even announced to the world?

Do you get satisfaction from ticking off your daily to do list or do you wonder what happened to the day? Maybe you have have even stopped making a to do list!

If you have fallen down on some of these things I know how you feel.

I looked at my life over the past week and asked “Hey what is going on here?”

I listened to that small inner voice, my intuition. I noticed how my tummy felt.

The answers came. I am great at getting clarity about where I am heading. Even better at setting big hairy goals.

What I haven’t been doing is following through on the tasks that need to done on the way to goals.

I also see my overachiever, Wonder Woman streak is coming out. Wonder Woman needs a holiday while I get on with business.

Putting that another way I have to accept the fact that not everything I do can be perfect the first or even the second time.

What’s wrong with edition 1, then a revised edition 2?

We could all learn from some of the big guns. Take Microsoft, they have made their fortune with getting people to buy version 1.0, then 1.1 while they iron out the bugs.

Do you ever experience the “it’s not perfect” roadblock? What do you do about it?

Abundance Comes from Being Grateful

August 10, 2008 by Guest Author

Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel

Each morning as I walk on the beach I am reminded of how blessed I am. It is the simple things that help me start my day in an abundant way. This week the tide has been very low and the pool created by these low tides had me meditating on the simple things that make me feel abundant each day.

The beauty of the beach

The clear blue water

The ripples the waves make,

The clear, clean air

The rays of the sun warming my soul

The cool sand between my toes

The patterns in the sand

The rock to meditate on

Shared thoughts with Des

Saying good morning to familiar faces

Smiles from friends and friendly faces

Watching a surfer ride a wave

The feeling of freedom

The wonder of nature

Each morning I find at least 10 things to be grateful for. This starts my day in an abundant way.

What do you do to start your day in an abundant way?

Does Your Blog Have It’s Own Personality?

August 3, 2008 by Guest Author

Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel

When I was walking on the beach last Friday, I asked Des if he thought blogs had their own personalities.

Because my blog was not happy. I had been for weeks talking about getting a theme that was less cantankerous, than the one I had been using. Blog heard this I think and went into total meltdown. I really must watch the words I use!

Des commented that he didn’t know why I had kept this theme for so long!

I can be stubborn and I was still searching for the perfect design. Well I am an artist and my NLP style is strongly visual so that was natural for me to focus on the look. I won’t be doing that again in the near future as this limits the amount of content that my blog receives. That doesn’t make blog too happy as the comments dwindle and subscriptions subside.

I then wondered what I had done to attract a very broken blog, just before Liz’s Blog Showcase too. The law of attraction was matching my not so positive vibes!

The personality of The Abundance Highway aka Law of Attraction in Action definitely is inspirational. I can see why it broke:( It wasn’t being fed it’s inspirational daily diet. Clearly what was needed was a theme was that was functional as well as looking good.

So does your blog have it’s own personality?

July 20, 2008 by Guest Author

Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel

This week’s Beach notes is a little different and will add to Liz’s 25 words group writing project. I wrote one yesterday that I was going to put here and then decided to put it over at The Abundance Highway

These 3 Words have the power to change how you feel, whether negative or the positive.

3 Small Words

Don’t, Not and No

Zap my energy

So when I catch

Myself saying

Don’t Not and No

I ask Myself

So what do I want?

Listen to your words today.
How often do you use these 3 small words?

Keeping My Vibes High

July 13, 2008 by Guest Author

Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel

On Friday I almost didn’t go for my beach walk. I had got up early and was working on blog posts. I had lost 2 drafts! Time to no longer rely on the wordpress editing tool. I am writing this in the Flock blog editor and yesterday tried ScribefireFirefox. I am still evaluating and will report back.

As you might imagine my vibes were not in a totally positive state.

I did go to the beach. As soon as my feet touched the cool sand and I looked across the water, I immediately felt wonderful and thought: The beach, the water and the sun always raise my vibes and make me feel balanced.

I walked towards the rocks and round onto what we call Frog Beach. As I rounded the rocks I saw on the sand this perfectly formed seat. ideal for sitting and doing a meditation.

I sat down and looked out to sea. I felt the sun enveloping me in it’s rays, warming my soul. The sound of the sea and birds singing bringing music to my ears. I looked out to the horizon and spent five minutes in silence, just breathing, being warmed by the sun. This is magic. As I opened my eyes, I felt both energized and eager to experience the abundance of the day ahead.

I am glad I chose to go to the beach.

Are You Staying on Track?

Are you Staying on Track?

Compartments of My Life

Walking on the beach on Friday, I noticed the pattern made by a fisherman’s truck at sunrise. The close up looks like my life right now. Too many compartments! Spreading myself too thin.

Do you sometimes look at all the compartments in your life and wonder how they relate to one another. I have many exciting possibilities in my life right now. The challenge is to achieve simplicity, not be overwhelmed by complexity.

Getting on TrackI then looked  at the bigger picture the trucks tyres had made. So that was another challenging image.

Where am I heading? How well am I staying on track?

Beside the tyre tracks were a line of footprints.

To get on the pathway to freedom and success what I need to do each day is to set myself a simple daily path, put one foot in front of the other, celebrate each small win along the way and share that each day with my readers.

Then I will be living my purpose: Something I got clarity on back in May

Step By Step

I make a difference by inspiring others and empowering people to live lives full of joy, creativity and freedom.

I have this sitting on the computer screen. Today I will print this out and put this around the house, on the cover of my "imitation" Moleskin, and in the car. this will keep me focused and keep my vibes high.

Having a focus and a path mapped out each day, in line with my purpose will allow me to harmonize the compartments of my life and business.
