Alexander Kjerulf and Pamela Slim Are Two-in-a-Million!!
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 10:01 pm
Let’s Start with One-in-a-Million Ways
I suspected that if I made a One-in-a-Million Award that people like me would see the value in shouting out someone’s uniqueness. I also suspected that folks would find their own one-in-a-million ways of telling the world about what people do that’s special — maybe even two people at a time! Here’s the first One-in-a-Million Award(s).
For the One-in-a-Million-Category of:
Enthusiastic and contagious entrepreneur who regularly helps us all be happy at work. This category requires an above average ability to enlist the support of others in your quest, a generous spirit, an amazing sense of humor, and a flair for words. This person must sincerely desire to see others happy in what they do and be willing to sacrifice their time and energy to make it so.
The winner (male): Alexander Kjerulf, Chief Happiness Officer
When I started to write this with Alexander in mind, I realized that there is another person that offers their time freely (and as a coach), helps people reach their professional “happiness†goals, and helps us to realize that job satisfaction comes in lots of shapes and sizes.
She more than qualifies too!
The winner (female): Pamela Slim, Escape from Cubicle Nation
Alexander and Pam help make the working world more enjoyable – on which ever side of a corporation you happen to find yourself!
This award was submitted by: One-in-a-Million Cohort Ann Michael
Thanks, Ann, for seeing the one in a million in another blogger! Thanks Tree George and Sandy Renshaw for the logo that shouts it out!

Hey Liz,
The header caught my attention, because I love Alexender’s blog. No more, I love his concept. Therefor I found myself looking at Pamela’s blog. So I had to add the feed to my feedreader. Really good articles.
Thank you Liz for letting me know.

Hi Erno,
Great to hear from you! It’s easy to see why Ann had to give the award twice, isn’t it? The two blogs in question are so unique yet somehow they are first-class providers of a positive, joyful work experience that the same reader can appreciate.
Maybe the award should be Two for One-in-a-Million . . . oh! We all know I think too much.

Hi Liz -
I love Pam’s blog and just recently stumbled upon Alexander. Alexander is doing such an awesome job marketing his book (honest, sincere, giving some away to spread his concepts, etc.) that I originally wrote this for him and then realized I had described Pam too!!!!
Luckily, one was a man and one a woman - so I figured you might let me stretch the rules. Thanks for being so flexible. It’s also really cool to hear that Pam has a new reader as a result!!!!

Hi Ann,
Of course you can stretch the rules . . . it’s a One-in-a-Million Award! There have to be millions of ways to do it right!
I know that you’ve gained more than one reader for both of these bloggers. I bet that some folks might forward to tell you that.
Meanwhile, you have such great eye, I should put you on as scout for SOBs.
Thanks for celebrating great bloggers!!!

So Liz, why did you qualify the two winners as “male” and “female”? There was some special reason for this? I don’t see any need for that, myself.
ME Strauss said
Scorpia,
I’m sure Ann did that so that she could two winners for a ONE-in-a-million Award.
Chris Cree said
Really, Scorpia, Liz is one of those precious few among us who knows more than 2 million people so rule #5 doesn’t apply!
ME Strauss said
Chris, now I’m really laughing. . . . I’ll go with “few,” I don’t know about “precious” unless you stick to the definition, “rare.”
Of course, now I’m thinking about steaks . . . I’ve known a few of them. Well, we never actually had a conversation, which is to say the steak never talked back.
Chris Cree said
I counted it up and to the best of my ability I think I came up with a grand total of 54 people that I know. (And none of them are steaks. At least not that I’m aware of.)
I might know a couple more, but I’d have to take my shoes off to count much higher!
[whispers] David snuck a comment in up there. I think Askimet may have been holding him hostage for a bit.
ME Strauss said
Uh-oh! [thanks Chris, this old eyes are really bugging me]
David,
It’s great to see you, even if Chris has to point you out! [big grin followed by a big blush]
I agree those are two fabulous one-in-a-million blogs Ann brought us! This is so fun!!!
ME Strauss said
Chris,
About the people you know, I bet every one is one-in a million. Don’t worry about not know steaks. As I said, they don’t make very good conversationalists.
Scorpia said
Aha, I missed that last line down there attributing the winners to Ann.
So consider that I asked her that question instead of you
My apologies, Liz.
ME Strauss said
What’s this, apologies? Scorpia?
If, every now and then, you read like type, I’m grateful. Thank you!!!

Hi Liz!
Thank you so much for giving this generous award! I am totally flattered and honored. I had not heard of Alex before, so I can’t wait to dig in to his great blog next year.
I wish you a truly delightful holiday and a fun, zany, creative and productive new year.
All the best,
-Pam
