Abundance Comes from Being Grateful

August 10, 2008 by Guest Author 6 Comments

Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel

Each morning as I walk on the beach I am reminded of how blessed I am. It is the simple things that help me start my day in an abundant way. This week the tide has been very low and the pool created by these low tides had me meditating on the simple things that make me feel abundant each day.

The beauty of the beach

The clear blue water

The ripples the waves make,

The clear, clean air

The rays of the sun warming my soul

The cool sand between my toes

The patterns in the sand

The rock to meditate on

Shared thoughts with Des

Saying good morning to familiar faces

Smiles from friends and friendly faces

Watching a surfer ride a wave

The feeling of freedom

The wonder of nature

Each morning I find at least 10 things to be grateful for. This starts my day in an abundant way.

What do you do to start your day in an abundant way?

Each night, before I go to bed, I journal about three things that I am grateful for. Three things does not sound like alot; I am certainly grateful for many, many more…I do, however, write out those three things in such detail, that they also become a “memory” for me. I love filling up my “memory bank” with “gratitude” 🙂 🙂 🙂

I haven’t really established a daily routine of gratitude but in the back of my mind is the sentence, “What if today were your last?” That keeps me grateful.
