How does this photo relate to what you do?

Do you even think that it does?

I’m overlooking the burgeoning landscape that is my empire. π
I have a feeling John from finding the money would say “slacker king” hehe π
To me it’s like contemplating nature, simply beautiful landscape and seeing what mother nature is offering, which is too often overlooked. Ah i think i’ll go spend some time walking in the park tomorrow π
I got dizzy just looking at the photo. π However, it does not releate to what I do at the moment.
I admire the person who is filling those shoes.
Also a weird thing, this photo makes me think and wish that it were my shoes. I want to be on the edge and I want to be the leader. I think Stephen Covey wrote in his book that a leader is a person who climbs the tree first and proclaims “Wrong Jungle” (very loosley paraphrased)
Hi Jeff!
I believe that! You are becoming a Benevolent Internet emperor of the very best kind. π
Hi Carma!
I couldn’t stand there for that photo. It would bother me. π
That’s a great aspiration. As Dave Pollard points out aspire means to breathe toward. I think that you might be doing that. What a good thing.
Leadership is state of mind and of character. You have both. The limits you perceive are only those that you make for yourself. π
Hi Jonathan!
John, the Slacker King, would probably see that — sneakers and all. We should send him over to see his picture. π
What a lovely thought you take from the picture. I’d like to go walking in the park tomorrow too or maybe by the lake. π
By the lake it will be π
that’ll be confirmed surely tomorrow π
I’ll be by one lake. You’ll be by another. π
We’ll be walking by the lake together but apart. π
well Chicago is right next to a lake! π
Yessiree. That lovely Lake Michigan is right outside my window. π
hehe, nice! and when are you coming to Montreal now? π
umm, makes me think, it would be nice to have SOB events in other cities also, just a thought π
When are you going to set up SOB Canada? I’ll be there and bring my friends!!
there you go, just registered the domain name π
It redirects to sobevent.com right now, but at least the domain is ours(mwahaha, evil john chow laugh, ok maybe not lol)
sobcanada.com
Thank you Liz you are so kind.
Carma!
No thanks necessary. I say what I see. Yessiree! π
Okay, Jonathan, we’re on. Let’s get the party started. Could we do it when it’s warm?
I feel sick!
Jeremy,
Is that a comment on the photo or on the conversation that Jon and I were having? π
Hi Liz
Great photo. I tend to jump in with both feet and this photo makes me think of rather jumping off a cliff into an abyss that I am jumping into the lush field of life. If I stand on top of the trees I am apart from it all, above it all.
There are many ways to jump — I could play it safe and be wearing a parachute and float down slowly, deliberately yet still coming down to the field of life.
Or, I could jump and take it on faith that I will eventually land on my feet, maybe after a few tumbles in the field.
BTW, I’ll go to SOBcon anywhere it happens!
What a great description, Ellen.
Jumping with both feet and landing on the field of life. Lovely metaphors.
It’s fun to hear people talk about these pictures — more fun here than in person, because everyone gets plenty of room to think and talk . . . and plenty of room to hear and see what’s being said before we move on to the next one. π
gosh, this is the story of my life… from my “turquoise days”, to opening the inn to my skydiving extravaganza. Stuff that scares me so much sometimes, but I know i come out the other side in a better place.
GP in Montana
Hmm .. my Sony 46″ Rear Projection TV blew up a week ago last Thursday .. I guess that’s why I see something different.
I see a Couch Potato lying on the couch watching his new 60″ Hi-Def Plasma TV with his shoes on (and Boy! Will his wife be mad when she finds out his shoes are on the couch!) during a championship Golf Masters game .. they just panned over the course, and showed the cheering crowd.
I wonder if there was a bowl of Pringles on this person’s chest, while he’s snapping a picture of his fancy new shoelaces (by the way .. that’s the reason of this picture, to show off his new purples shoelaces, of his favorite color .. not to take a picture of the TV) .. creating more and more crumbs on the couch for his wife to clean up.
*cough*
Liz, i thought it would be cool to do this like in January or something! (kidding lol)
We’ll need to tallk about this (when we see each other) cause honestly i’ve never organized something like this hehe π
By the way, just registered for sobcon07 π
Hi GP!
Blogging wasn’t really good until I jumpted into it with both feet. That’s when things started to make sense to me.
HART!!
I live for your imagination! I think that this guy was eating nacho cheese flavored Doritos and drinking regular Coca Cola. I have the strongest suspicion of yellow cheese colored fingers being wiped on the legs of those jeans that he’s wearing.
Sorry about your car.
Oh Jonathan!
You don’t want to organize a conference, besides being a horrendously expensive financial risk — the work! the details! You would have to aks all of the beautiful women who follow you around to pitch in and help you with it. π
mmm, you have a good point about the financial risks, but i definitely don’t mind the second part π
Hi Jonathan,
We’ll work that all out when we see each other in Chicago! π
definitely! π
now all i have to do is find affordable plane tickets, so far the best places i found are around $520CAD, which is not bad.
Jonathan!
I thought that you were driving! I’m so confused! You silly wanderer. π
hehe, yeah i know, but i think a plane will be cheaper, it’s a 14-16 hours drive from Montreal to Chicago (according to google maps), and by plane it’s something like 2 hours and a half π So i think i’ll take a plane. (and it’s more fun to take a plane i think π )
Yeah, I think that a plane is a great choice. I’d hate to see you sleep through the conference because you drove all the way here. π
i wouldn’t want to sleep either π
i’ll take the plane early in the morning and find my way to the hotel, i like to feel relaxed and i’ll probably sleep on the plane, or work on stuff on my laptop! ahh i love this! π
oh Jonathan! Wow!
Liz, that’ll be $1.00 USD, “wow” is copyrighted to me lol
π
Jon,
I’ll pay you when you get here. π
hehe, deal π
The shoes don’t! π Don’t hate me! I had to make a silly joke. You know me already. What wonderful scenery at the edge! I’m there, Liz! But I’ve got security strings. I might as well jump and I’ll be safe.
ah Mihaela,
So those shoes don’t relate to you? You need a good pair of “sneaker” in order to play “spy,” or else how will you go on a caper with Mike the next he makes up one? π
Yes the scenery does make jump seem inviting, but I’m sure I would even with safety ropes holding on to me. You are more brave than I in this situation. π
It does not matter if you grow big if you lose touch with your inner child-
Perhaps it could be that it’s the small things that make your life!
I really like the pic.
Hi Whoa!
I like that . . . itΓΒ’Γ’Β¬ÒΒΒ’s the small things that make your life! That’s a lovely philosophy. It makes the photo a sort of 30,000 foot view of being a person, doesn’t it? π
Yup! That it exactly.
I’m so smiling. π
