It all started when I went to Blogher and met up with Sabine Kirstein, and we met up with Janice Myint. I found out what it’s like to converse in real time with bloggers. It was an invigorating experience.
After that, I went to Seth’s seminar in NYC with Ann Michael. I talked to Joe Hauckes when my plane was delayed. I met Phil Gerbyshak for his speaking gig in Chicago. All in all, I’ve talked to some 50 other bloggers. To a person, the bloggers I’ve met are cool, vibrant people. I learned something from every one of them.
So I’ve decided to form a B.A.D. habit.
I Want to Call You a B.A.D. Blogger
i’m calling a Blogger A Day every day. I’d like to do a voice chat with you. Would you like a call? I’d like to get to know who you are, what you do, and tell you a little about me too.
It’s one more way to link up the blogosphere. It’s one more way that we can get smarter. It’s a way we can take blogging to the next level. It’s a way you and I can meet to say a real “hello.”
After we talk, I’ll call you a B.A.D. Blogger and I’ll post a word and link on Successful-Blog. It’ll be fun. It’ll also be great promotion for you and your blog.
Here’s what to do.
- Write an e-mail to me at lizsun2@gmail.com.
- Put Call Me a B.A.D. Blogger in the subject line.
- Include the following information in your message:
a number or Skype contact to call (Int’l has to be VoIP)
your location on the planet and good times to call.
I’ll email you before I call to make sure you’ll be around. Of course, the only one who reads my email is me.
I’m calling a blogger a day from now on. With some 57 million blogs indexed at Technorati. I figure I should be able to find at least one blogger a day who’s willing to talk.
What do you say? Do you wanna be a B.A.D. Blogger?
Send me an e-mail now. So I can arrange the call. I’d sure like to meet you for a conversation.
PS. THERE WILL BE THE COOLEST BUTTONS YOU’VE EVER SEEN!
Good morning Liz,
It’s a great idea, but you sure you wanna do that? 😉
I doubt you need to search that far, because based on the number visitors and commenters you have, it’s enough to keep you real busy at least til next Valentine’s Day.
But still an excellent idea. I strongly agree that communication between bloggers shouldn’t “depend” on one medium – text.
Cheers
Hey Renée!
It’s only one phone call . . . and look at all of the folks that I’ll get to meet. I think it will all in a day’s talking for me. One more Liz conversation. 🙂
And I wonder why they call you “Queen of Conversationists”
If you keep at this rate, how on earth other bloggers keep up! 🙂
Hey Renée!
What’s to keep up with? I find out the stuff and I tell everyone anyway. You know that. 🙂
Liz, I meant to say….
To keep up with the way you converse with your readers. Making us feel at home and wanting to communicate with you more.
And that I mean it as a compliment.
Aw Renée,
I talk, talk, talk. I love having you here. 🙂
You are one of the nicest people that comes around here. I love talking with you. You’re never mean or insincere. Don’t you worry about a thing. . . I love every word that you say.
I’m sorry if you didn’t hear me smiling in that last comment. I was smiling at you 🙂
Liz, I got you the first time. No qualms about it. 🙂
I’m not a mean person by nature, just like you and many people around us.
Mama always told me…”To keep my mouth shut if nothing good gonna come out of it, however never be afraid to be speak when needed.”
I just need to fine tune my words, and I’m working hard on it. :p
Hey Renée,
Gotcha!
I like your Mama. She sounds like a wise one. Your words are music enough. 🙂
hey Liz, great idea 😉
I don’t know whether I might be a good B.A.D candidate 🙂 probably when you’re sleeping Mauritius is all day here. So I can’t be tiring you so much ;P
hey would you be wanting to send us a podcast? That way we can hear your lectures sometimes someday! that would be the cool part of it : hearing the one we’re reading, our blogger.
and then in some future time converts some blogging interview into a real podcast. that would also be a fun stuff. Haha only some crazy ideas of mine I couldn’t wait to share with you 😉
yeah probably that’s what’s required in all this writing : a bit of noise now 😉
Hans,
I’m awake right now!
I’ve never done a podcast. I’d have to figure out how in between all of everything. It’s in the plan . . . . 🙂
Hey Liz,
I remember that conversation well… 🙂
It was a bit stormy that night, much like today is here. It’s funny that you posted this just now, because the weather reminded me of our conversation. 😉
Joe
ps Where’s my Button? 😉
J.
Oh… Liz you are ambitious! I believe Phil would say that is relationship geekness at its best!
Hi Joe,
That phone call was one of my first blogger conversations. I remember it very well too. I want another phone call to give you the button. 🙂
Hey Kirsten!
Thank you, I can’t wait to talk to again about it! I’m feeling geekier already! 🙂
