It’s Not Your Blog, It’s Technorati

May 11, 2006 by Liz Leave a Comment

Has Been for a Few Days

At this moment, the message is

Cannot Find Server

Guess our friends, Janice Myint, David Sifry, and their team are very busy.

No judgment just information.

On the other hand, on Thursdays, the Internet always seems to go haywire. Have you noticed that?

UPDATE: IT’S PARTWAY BACK, BUT THE LINK MARKERS AREN’T WORKING AND THE LINK COUNTS AREN’T RIGHT YET.

    Hey Liz,

I know you don’t use ping-o-matic, but they have been having problems all week. Ever since they changed their ping page.

And Thursday used to be my good day, I guess more people get mad at their boss’ by that time of the week.

That seems to be a consistent pattern for many blogs, Steve. It’s like everyone goes home on Thursday afternon. It used to confuse me about the weekends when I first started blogging.

I think my Thursday (sometimes Wednesday) start for a good week through Sunday, has a lot to do with people looking for work other than the jobs they have.

The more people are fed up with their day job, the more they look to alternative sources of employment.

I’d like to know if any other work at home or on the internet type blogs have the same experience.

Heh, I might do something with that tomorrow, Joe. If I’d rememebered seeing that on Problogger yesterday when I wrote today’s post about paying attention to your property value I’d have used it to make a stronger post. A newspaper clipping of “Housing values plummet, mortgage rates jump five percent” with the headline “Would this newspaper headline give you a heart attack?” would have been a stronger lead-in.

Dang. Isn’t that typical? The best ideas show up about 12 hours after you could have really used them. Though come to think of it, that could be a good follow-up to today’s top post.

Well, the new blog will focus on Guide Services, hunting guides, fishing guides, hiking guides, rafting guides, cabins, camps, etc

It will be reviews on these services and events that are taking place all across the U.S and Canada.

It will be more of a businessy type blog. It should do well since we already have roughly 3 established blogs and 2 others that are on their way. This will really help complement our Network nicely.

Though my longish post about real estate is more about ..well, real real estate than blog property values 🙂

I think I’m going to turn that into an article and submit it a few places that accept them – starting with the list in my Writer’s Resources directory – like I said to Liz a while back there probably aren’t any surprises there, but it’s nice to have everything in one place – and since I made that I’ve been able to clean up my bookmarks a lot.

Sounds like you may need 3 just because of the amount of info you will most likely have to have at first glance.

The nearest I can figure is these are Troll Sites. They troll for certain keywords in posts and use them for their own purposes.

I found the link for mine on T-rati, maybe that’s how they pick them up. Don’t know.

Jessica didn’t say anything because I didnt’ get a chance to tell her. She had 2 emergencies that ran late (or she’s cheating on me) and didn’t get home until 8:30 and our minds were distracted.

I will show her tonight when she gets home 🙂

*come on 100 we are almost there*

    I don’t win anything. I don’t have money on it. I guess I was just being a geek. 🙂

You should have put at least a $1.00 on it, looks like you may just win…

    Yes quantity versus quality

In order to have one you must sacrifice the other…

Either that or you have to give up your budget. Speaking of which, how’s the new blog going???

I might be announcing a new blog as well soon . . .

No, Steve. I don’t want to see it until it’s complete and done. 🙂

OK… It’ll be ready next week. I have been struggling a bit on the template. I wasn’t happy with it and had to do a lot of tweaking. Took up a lot of my time today.

That’s the pain of starting a new blog. You’re all keyed up and ready to get rolling and the tweaking keeps getting in the way of going.

    Does that go with strawberries?
    I’m sure it does.
    Flourless chocolate cake with strawberries,
    too good to be true?
    Never say I,
    especially with whipped cream.

So it doesn’t rhyme, but sure sounds good huh? 🙂

I prefer my flourless chocolate cake naked. Please keep the strawberries and cream–real cream– on the side. 😉
