Here’s a Fun Test
Here’s a fun test on right and left brain thinking with only a few questions. If you know this stuff you can easily skew it. I tried not to, but I did anyway. We know that I am very right brain. But I also have left brain qualities. I won’t give you my results before you take the test.
Have some fun with it, but don’t plan your life on the results. Click on the title below to try it out.
We all use both sides of our brain and we can develop the side that we don’t use.

k – test results are up on my blog…
as a person that makes a living as a technologist, normally seen as a left-brained role, guess i’m one of the abnormals 😉
So I guessed before I took the test and got it right. 🙂
I think this is the first one of these that has me down more right brained. Nice find.
Hi Mike,
I think would depend on what you do as a techologist. If you spend a lot of time looking and working with your hands . . . .
Hi Joshua,
I’m glad you had fun with this little Friday test. Everyone needs some right brain to balance out our left-brain schooling.
Well just did the test before I turned off the computer for the night, and I got a 50/50 split.
At first this didn’t make much sense, then I thought on what I enjoy doing and am good at (detail, reading, quiet vs. creative, writing, dreaming) and yeah I am a 50/50 split if you stick to the traditional definitions of left/right brain.
Thing is, does this mean I am super-well-adjusted, or even more abnormal than I had already given myself credit for? 😉
I would take it as a good sign, Case. That you like to do things with both sides of your brain. 🙂
45% left – 55% right…
Sounds about right for me… 🙂
Jonic,
That makes sense for gamer techie you are.
EVERYONE REMEMBER: There were only 10 questions on this silly test. Change one answer and it could change a whole lot.
My results were 100% Right Brain
Hey Liz,
You gave away your answer before I told you mine. 🙁
Just for that I’ll tell you 35% and 65% but you have to guess which is which.
Joe
HEY LIZ…
Just so you know Doctor Who is on Sci-Fi tonight at 9:00 Eastern Time…
I thought the Teacher might like to meet the Doctor. Even if it is the series finale. 😉
Joe.. are you my missing clone that I’ve been looking for? I need you to get back to work for me!
I’m 35% left brained and 65% right brained. Now the world can rest in peace knowing that.
I came out 45% left and 55% right – that makes sense for me! Funny thing is this would have been much heavier toward left if I did it 5 or 6 years ago! See Liz – that’s one thing that publishing did for me – introduced me to my right brain!
HART.
Left and Right are right.
I’m not sure what it means, but I’m happy… 🙂
I know, you figured it out because I said 35% first, which is the first result in the test, which is the Left.
Hey Joe,
I don’t guess. I do my research and then I put forth a hypothesis. 🙂
HART,
You and Joe a whole person together? THAT’s an interesting thought!
Ann,
Publishing changes everybody! I’m glad the change in you was for the good. 🙂
Is that a Right? or am I wrong?
Where’s Chris to follow up on the Dr Who comment?
;-}
Snf Who turned on the Time warp?
I didn’t bring mu Tardis…
Hi Joe,
i think that Chris might be doing something this weekend. I’m not sure. Sorry. I’ve got to work tonight on the 2nd grade stuff or I won’t have my homework done.
1st which side controls the fingers while typing?
2nd Chris is changing over from Blogger to WordPress
3rd Don’t you have a VCR?
Ok,
Where’s Trisha then, she knows the Dr?
Based on your answer there – you’ve gotta be 65% left brain.
1. Actually I don’t think that’s a one-hemisphere thing.
2. Oh, I wasn’t aware that he really was going through with that.
3. I have one, but It’s hardly ever used.
Trisha’s in Missouri!
But I know. You know that. 🙂
Actually, it’s 65% Right (according to the test)
And I knew that, but I forgot my map. 😉
Now That is a RIGHT BRAIN comment. 🙂
Is it left brain or right brain that I sat here waiting @ 25 refreshing and not going to page 2?
That’s distracted. 🙂
Yeah, that’s it…
I was watching Tim Allen on the Actor’s Studio.
Very informative insight into the man.
What was his favorite word?
It was hard to hear through the BEEEP you.
I guess he can’t count to one… 🙂
Didn’t he have to tell his favorite word?
Favorite sound… Alfa … engine running at hight revs
Lest Favorite sound… 8 yr old girl going through chemotheropy.
Not very funny, but very informative about the person behind the comedian.
Yes Liz, the favorite word was BEEEEEP
Joe,
Trick question. . . .
I can’t tell a trick question on the screen. You’ve got a compeitive spirit. Dontcha? 🙂
Howdya guess?
Ok, new question…
If you get into the Tardis, how long will it take you to come to an answer to this question?
da-da-da-da-da-da-da…
Ok, think Jeopardy for the sound effects.
Ok, another new question…
I you’re ambidextrious, are you left brained or right?
I’m not ambidexterous.
However someone who is uses both sides of his or her brain, just like the rest of us. 🙂
It’s a shame, I majored in English and I still can’t type… 😉
But I do use both hands and all of my fingers…
When in doubt, use phonics…
I’m not sure how the first thought relates to the second one. What does majoring in English have to do with being able to type?
Read #41, sometimes it isn’t a mis-typing error.
Number 41 wasn’t there when I typed 42, but I’m afraid it still doesn’t help me follow where you’re going with this. I’m totally confused. I’m just not connecting the dots.
A joke is not a joke if it has to be explained…
I misepelled the word for being able to use both hands with equal dexterity, and blamed it on a typing error.
You fell into the time warp as my Tardis went by, therefore, the whole conversation is lost in the Twilight Zone.
How many words in the previous entry did I misspell?
As far as I can tell just one.
Am I taking some sort of test?
How could a Student ever give a Teacher a test? 😉
Ha! Don’t play coy with me on that. 🙂
I’m not being coy, but Dr Who is coming on now, Sci-Fi channel.
I will be back during commercials… besides I Love the Theme Music.
Enjoy!
dr. who is great – but i’d rather tivo it and watch later most of the time…
seems most folks put their results here so – mine was 10% left & 90% right…
somewhat surprising to me at least…
Hi Mike,
What kind of tech work do you do?
7 minutes, first commercial…
I think I know where Trisha is. Probably waiting til the mercial is over just like me.
You gotta love it.
Hope you’re watching, it is pretty good.
Joe,
I’m working. Horizontal and vertical line segments is the topic.
Liz,
Another commercial, this is an interesting show, I haven’t figured out the ending yet, but I’ll get it by the end of the show.
Thing is, they always leave you haning, you know how a good story is, leave them wanting more and use the cliffhanging thing
Back on, gott go
I hope you’re watching, since you aren’t responding… 😉
Joe, I’m working.
Sorry
No problem with commenting. I’m just not watching the show. 🙂
How many thing can you do at one time?
I know you can do more than one, just like using a remote for the TV and watching 2-3-4 channels at the same time.
It can be done, unless there is thinking involved. Then you need to concentrate, just like orange juice.
Just don’t put everything into one basket.
That is a combination of left and right brain thinking.
I do one thing at a time.
I stop one thing and do another and then go back to the first again. 🙂
That’s why I don’t watch TV. It don’t like to watch something for that long. 🙂
Ok, the Dr that you would have met is now the New Doctor that you have to meet.
I, unfortunately, can do more than one thing at a time. Sometimes that is good, sometimes, not so good.
I just needed a little get lost in fantacy time, which is easy watching Sci-fi for me.
I guess that’s why I thought I could do a blog of various types of short stories.
I am much better at critiquing (?) others work than actually writing my own original material. But, I do write a story here and there.
Am I rambling?
You’re a bit off topic, but no, you’re not rambling. 🙂
Is that left or right, using imagination?
Letting the mind roam?
If you’re not using words, you’re probably in your right brain then.
So, the test was right, 65% of the time for me
You’re saying that you’re a dreamer, who thinks without words most of the time? That makes sense.
Translating (reforming) thoughts into words can sometimes be difficult. A dreamer has the ability to think, a writer has the ability to put thought into word.
I don’t know if anyone ever said that, but I sounds good.
It sounds good.
I think a true writer could transform that thought into a post for a blog. Liz, you are a true writer…
I don’t know what you’re saying there. Joe.
Well, since I’m not a good writer and you are…
The thought of a dream can be transformed into words if the right person has the ability to translate the thought into a coherent post.
In other words, if you can think it, you can write about it.
If you have the idea, you can do something with it.
Make it into a nice post for one of your blogs.
Please.
What a nice thing to say. I translate dreams into words a lot. Well not so much lately. But still a lot on my wrting blog. I’m planning on doing one tonight about a crab apple tree that I’ve been thinking about in a farming doll-house kind of town where I used to spend my summers.
I’ll think on your your dreaming thoughts and see what bubbles up over the next few days. Thank you for that word. Please. It’s a beautiful word. You didn’t have to say it. But it’s lovely that you did.
You guys still at it? Have you tried any other Blogthings? How about their life number thingy … I’m #1
I was brought up to be polite… Please and Thank You have always been a part of me.
It’s nice to know that people still appreciate common courtesy.
EVERYBODY HART
Who’s life number thingy?
HART,
When did you sneak in?
I just snuck in .. the Life Number thingy – I did .. on my other site… HERE … it’s from the blogthings
And now, the time is near
Time to draw the final curtain…
How do you make musical notes in html?
Anyway,
Good night,
Don’t let the bedbugs bite…
blogs needs .. things.
HART.
I don’t know how to tell you this.
I am your wife.
Your purpose in life is to make the world better
You are very socially conscious and a total idealist.
You think there are many things wrong with the world, and you want to fix them.
You have a big idea of how to world could be, and you’ll sacrifice almost anything to work towards this dream.
In love, you can easily see the beauty in someone else. And you never cling too tightly.
You are capable of great love, but it’s hard for you to focus your love on one person or relationship.
You have a lot of outward focus, and you tend to blame the world for your failures.
You are often disappointed by the realities of life – it’s hard for you to accept the shortcomings of the world.
I had to take a look before I went to bed.
That Life Number thingy seems to be right on as far as I can tell from out conversations.
Nite
Are you also a #4? No wonder we get along 😀
Oh Sorry,
I thought it said she was a 9.
oh, #9 .. that means you’re my father and/or older brother .. well, let’s just say you are my MENTOR and leave it at that ~
Well, now that does put a new spin on things doesn’t it? Hope Martin is getting his comments now. 🙂
I’m a 50/50 split which makes sense because I wanted to answer “either one but it depends on the situation” for most of the questions.
I was not around last night becasue I was fevorishly working on my blog relocation project, learning WordPress, etc. And now this morning I get up for an hour of working/learning before I have to go down to Jacksonville for 12 hours of work and I find I can’t access my new site or even see my blog! 🙁
I must have done something wrong last night.
Joe, the Doctor is in the TIVO. I haven’t seen it yet, so no spoilers! Gorgeous has watched it but I swore her to secracy.
Enjoy!
Oh Chris,
I’ve done that WordPress lose my blog in cyberpsece thing. It takes real talent. I’m proud of you! 🙂 I know how frustrating it is. I hope your host will be able to help you sort things out. We’ll miss you until you’re back.
Hi Chris .. did you just reset the DNS name servers? Sometimes, it takes a few days to see the site everywhere. Maybe it’s not just a server problem? I mean – if it is – it’s not a good sign to go down before you begin.
PS: If I may ask .. what made you go with the .net domain? I first went to chriscree.com and noticed – that’s a different chriscree, right? I also notice there’s already a creeations.com. Since you were starting ‘a-new’ anyway .. why not come out with a unique URL?
I had a similar problem. My real name is HARTLEY B SINGER … (I go by just HART online) and guess what – hartleysinger.com was taken by someone else with middle initial E. Bummer. It’s unfortunate that I never really wanted my own name/domain until 2005 .. as I could have registered it years ago. Now, almost all derivations of HART and SINGER are taken. At least, I now have The-Singers.com website as a consolation.
EVERYBODY HART
So that’s why you changed your first name to 1-800. It all makes sense now. 🙂
~wave G’morning!
Yup – that’s pretty much it. I wanted to blog about business, but not about MY business, so I needed a different online name than my offline name (which is also online). Besides .. ask anybody .. I’ve got an answer for everything! Now .. it may not always be the right one .. but most of the times it sure sounds like it could be!
G’morning to your shining face as well.
I like your answers. They always sound good to me — even the ones that may not sound right. 🙂
OK. For the record the problem is on THEIR end. They’ve responded promply to my trouble ticket and then again to give me more information. They had a hardware failure and are waiting on a part.
Don’t know what a RAID controller is, but it sounds serious. I vision it having to do with heavily armed guys in camoflauge.
The good news is I didn’t cause the problem and they expect to have everything shiny again before I get back home tonight.
The bad news is I switched to them becaues of the Blogspot outage issues. Talk about hitting a guy in his sesitive spot!
Ah Chris,
Ain’t that always the way.
Your hair always looks best on the way to a haircut.
This is a sign that you’ll do well where you’re going. I know it is. 😉
Thanks for letting us know you’re okay!
Oh, and as far as the .net thing goes. I made a judgment call. We’ll see how it turns out.
But I am looking down the road when I have multiple blogs. CREEations will continue to be my blog on “practical life philosophy”. It could be argued that it is a glorified ââ¬Åcat blogââ¬Â. (ie. let me tell you all about what my cat did today).
That is why Iââ¬â¢m not too concerned with the domain not matching the blog title. CREEations has a dual purpose. It is my blog training ground where I am learning both the creative and technical sides of blogging. And it is also a place to express my perspective on holistic life stuff.
And I intend to keep it that way, very personal. So I am willing to pay the price of a little user confusion.
I also have newCREEations.net (and .com) which I will use as an umbrella organization for all of my blogs (with more ââ¬Åuniqueââ¬Â domain names) and other business ideas as things grow.
I think your plan makes total sense.
Guess you’ve been reading Seth — cat blog — I think he started that. I’ve never found CREEations to be all over the place.
No surprise, here – 85% Right-brained. What can I say? Anyone for an artist date?
Hi Tom!
Great to see you!
Looks like a lot of right-brain thinkers like to hang out here. At least those who are willing to take the risk of commenting seem to be. 🙂
jaja
I was a total failure in my art career. I’m glad i quit. Now i’m beginning to understand why. According to the test I’m 80% Left and 20% right
Hi Lucy,
I’m glad you found your way out of somewhere that you didn’t fit. I can’t help but wonder what you’re doing now.
Hi, ME
yeah, i had a hard time in the Art academy.
I love listening to music and going to artisitic events but i find very difficult to do creative things.
Now i’m about to get my degree in Economics. I totally enjoy working with numbers and statistics but sometimes i wish i were into something more technical.
well.. what to say… i guess i was a clueless teenager when i started the art career, but it helped me to learn more about myself.
Hi Lucy,
Thanks for answering my question. Economics can use both sides of your brain really well. I bet you find a way to be artful at it. There’s music in numbers too, you know. Music is inherently mathematical.
For some reason I felt compelled to take this test again… Perhaps I wanted to see if I’d changed at all since I last answered the question…
My old result: 45% left, 55% right
My new result: 50/50
Perhaps you should blog about this again and get people to see if their creative orientation has deviated at all in the last six months… I think that would be pretty interesting 🙂
Hi Jonic,
Though it’s a silly test, such things can change slightly over time. Now that I have help on the blog here, maybe I can do as you suggest. Thanks for giving me ideas! 🙂
Thereââ¬â¢s a survey to know what is more common, saw her spinning clockwise or anti-clockwise. Here is it:
Right Brain vs Left Brain Survey
Hi Thanks GooHackle,
And welcome.
I saw that on Randa Clay’s blog, and I was going to write about it. It confirms what I thought about me. Did it do the same for you?
Every test i take. i am right brained. in fact 75% right and only 25% left. every test 2! *freaked out*
lol, im 95% right brained and 5% left brained..
thats probably why im not too good at school…
hmm
but i can make and design clothes really well!! 🙂
xx
I took the test. It actually is one of the better tests, except for a couple of questions. It was pretty much correct in that I’m 85% right brain.
However, music is mostly left brain. Yes, right brain people have rhythym, and can perceive good music, but auditory and language is primary in the left brain. Left brain are linear thinkers, which is needed in learning cords…as well, as auditory…the ability to have perfect pitch.
Extreme right-brain people, like myself, are left brain blinded and often are tone deaf. Really!
Also, the question where I must choose between algerbra and geometry are both difficult for the extreme right-brainer. Geometry involves shapes, which is easy, but the problem in geometry comes with equasions or symbolic learning..left brain talent.
Check out rightbrainintelligence.com and let me know what you think. Evie
Okay… I think all the quizzes are a load of crap. One test said that I am left brained (though it was very close 51% left and 49% right) and this test said I was right (40% left, 60% right). What am I left or right? Or maybe already answered my question, and I am pretty evened out on both sides.
