Sometimes Success means Failing Faster. For sure it means knowing when to make things right.
Two Personal Heroes
I don’t have many personal heroes or maybe I have too many personal heroes. I guess that depends on how you define them. I do know this–two of them are my dad and business giant Tom Peters who taught me the principle above.
I’ve been talking and listening to all of you since we left 9rules/Fine Fools about where we might focus Successful-Blog. You’ve had great suggestions, given me super advice. You’ve loved some of the changes. Others, well, you’ve not liked so much. In the end, I have to admit that when all of the ideas are thought through and filtered, the answer is that Successful-Blog doesn’t belong in the Wild, Wild West.
We’re moving back to the city where we belong.
That’s why when you clicked in this morning you see some changes, the ads are gone . . . there might just be a few bumps here and there. Last night we moved servers and this morning we are are with
I want to thank everyone at Erati and Blog Media for all they have done for Successful-Blog to make us feel part of the family. You were heroes in how you saw Successful-Blog’s need to move. I really appreciate that.
More Personal Heroes
I want the world to know that I went to b5media, not the other way around. You already know that Jeremy, Darren, Shai, and Duncan are personal heroes. This move has only shown me what good reason I had for having those feelings. They made things happen quickly, painlessly, and I look forward to learning and growing with them. I also look forward to learning more from you.
Isn’t that what success is all about?

Great NEWS!
Best wishes to you and congratulations on the move!
Thanks Marti,
I hate moving I’ve done too much in the real world and too much with this blog. I’m ready to have a place to call home once and for all. I’m also ready to get on with the business of making successful blogging conversation happen and having fun. 🙂
Virtual Champagne, other beverages, and snacks are in the sidebar as always.

I have a question.
Why did you decide to move back? What, if any, difference is there between the networks? And what do you get out of being part of a network, anyway?
(Please answer quietly because I’m suffering from a ‘lost-a-lot-of freaking-money-betting-on-the-Seahawks-so-let-me-drown-my-sorrows-in-a-several-bottles-of-Red-Stripe’ hangover…)
Hi Chartreuse,
I didn’t move back, I moved on. A good network offers you support in terms of ideas, creativity, the economy of scale, and community. I like the idea of being associated with the folks at b5media. I like the way they do business as proven by the way this change as happened seamlessly and with no pain.
This allows me to concentrat on what I’m good at ideas and writing and building community on this blog.
I’m sorry your head hurts. Tomato juice–scientifically proven. It’s not the alcohol in bloody marys that fix it. It’s the tomoato juice. Even Ketchup works.
Liz
Congratulations on the move 🙂
I second Chartreuse’s question – for a non-network person like myself, it can be mysterious as to why you would want to be in a network.
Thanks, Cas, for the kind words.
I really value community–that’s obvious. Maybe I value it more than most because I live a writer’s life, working from home . . . with no office with colleagues to share stories etc.
Then there are all of the reasons I just put in the answer to Chartreuse’s question above.

Well, hopefully this blog can now get back to what it once was, rather than its replacement it became after biz.erati ego was born. Nice to see you under the blogging section here 🙂 I think b5 move was a good one – for b5! They have too many entertainment blogs *grin* although, this blog is good entertainment at times too.
As always there’s beverages and snacks laid out on the sidebar. Have some and celebrate.
Liz
Congrats on the move Liz.
Although I wouldn’t blog in a network, I’m a massive fan of the possibilities a network offers a blogger. I’ve always said being in a blog network is like having your hand stamped at an uber nightclub allowing you to come and go as you please. Well now you’ve had your hand stamped at a enough clubs to look like you’ve had a massive night out 😉
Just want to say Welcome! to Liz, thanks to Matt and the BlogMedia gang and happy new year to everyone else 😉
It might take us a week or so to get everything integrated properly, but we’re hopeful that we can simply get out of Liz’s way and let her build a great little community.
And, HART, don’t worry, there aren’t a heck of a lot more entertainment blogs in the works, and there are gobs of other blogs I am personally excited about (including half a dozen new sports ones, with 1-4 launching in the next 5-14 days!).
Anyways, this post is about Liz. May she find a great home, a great amount of peace, and may she continue to build a great community here (and at b5!)!
Congrats Liz,
It was a journey (ffool/erati/b5) but you got there – deep down you’re a city girl at heart, the Whacky Wild West was just not for you 🙂
And I second what HART says – it’s as good a move for b5 as it is for you.
Now to important matters: are my virtual nachos still on the menu over at your new home? And will you now serve Aussie beer…
Hi HART,
Thanks for the kind works. (I think. . . . bizerati.ego?) Have some Champagne. Maybe what this blog has been miss is you coming around to keep me in line and entertaining. 🙂
Jeremy .. I’m not worried, besides .. you know I’m subscribed to each and everyone of ’em, “eh”? 😀
Hi Jeremy,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you did this weekend and today to make this work so smoothly. You are an amazing person. This is will a grand community and a great addition to b5media.
We’ll try to keep the parties to a quiet roar. I know our neighbors aren’t as loud as we are. 🙂
Liz
Be as loud as you want, I have earplugs! 😀
Liz I hope your move also means the destruction of biz.erati. I also hope you go back to the quality posting you did with fine fools. I am sure your true colors will keep shining through. I just never thought you could be swept off your feet by a hick. Anyway, I really wish you luck and will be watching and reading in anticipation of the new Liz to begin flowing.
Adam,
What do you mean by the destruction of bizerati? Do you mean the erati Network? They’re ok. And Biz.erati is my blog. It is terrific. Lots of folks really like it.
I will admit the lack of fit and the messy look here at Successful Blog did make me lose some of my sparkle here, though. AND I’M SAYING NOW I’M BACK in full living color with snacks and beverages in the sidebar. What will you be having? 🙂
Don’t forget. I’m the nice one. 🙂
Liz
welcome to b5 Liz – looking forward to having you as an active part of our blogging channel. This could be fun 🙂
Hi Darren,
Thank you so much for having me. I feel honored to be in such big company.
You bet it could be fun. You get the ball and we’ll throw it over the blogroll wall. I’ll bring the beverages and snacks. 🙂
Liz
Wild wild west…ha ha! Welcome (again) Liz – we are more than thrilled to have you!
Hey Christina,
Thank you, I’m more than thrilled to be with you too. Have some virtual champagne!
Liz
Hi, just a heads up. Your website looks pretty bad on firefox. I wish you more and more success!
Thanks Kristene,
I heard that. I think removing the ads had something to do with that. I need a CSS doctor to help me straighten out the problem pretty quickly.
Until I can, thank for the successful wishes! Have some champagne!
