Web 2.0 Tools
This is a short list of Social Media tools organized by their most compelling feature.
It’s not meant to be comprehensive, but instead a starter set. If you’re looking for something more extensive, I suggest Top 100 Social Media Tools by Steve Dale online.
Great examples of online social media tools often used (and referred to in conversations) include these.
I’ve left room to add in more. Feel free to suggest links for each category. If you think it’s useful, I’ll compile them into a pdf when I return from BlogWorld Expo.

I’d add MovableType (http://www.movabletype.com), ExpressionEngine (http://www.expressionengine.com) and the up and coming Habari (http://habariproject.org) to blogging platforms.
Also, Mixx (http://www.mixx.com) and Reddit (http://reddit.com) should definitely be on the “social bookmarking” list.
Good initiative Liz, as always!

Liz - I’m a long-time reader. Since you asked I hoped you could add our social network to future lists. It is a real estate social network called BiggerPockets - http://www.BiggerPockets.com
Thanks!

I would add http://www.IPopU.com to that list, its a pretty big Social Bookmarking site with 15,000+ members, and tens of thousands of submissions already. Clean simple layout, easy navigation, quick and easy submissions. Many categories to suite a variety of niches across the net.
Check it out.
