Collaboration Link 2: Topical
Two or more blogs agree to write on the same topic at the same time and link their posts
Topical collaborations can take many forms depending on topic and the blog owners involved. Darren Rowse at Problogger put out a challenge last September for bloggers to choose another blogger as a subject. He called it a Blog Crush, and it was meant to get bloggers to write posts about what they admire about another blogger. The original posts were linked to the admired, and Problogger linked both the writer and the subject.
If you follow this collaborative link example you’ll find out who was my Blog Crush.
Other Topical Collaborative Links include:
- Ongoing Series Collaboration Two or more blogs in the same niche agree to write about the same topic, but different aspects of it. They post on the same day or days in series.
- Posting in Parallel Collaboration–Points of View Two or more blogs agree to post on a controversial topic on the same day to argue their side of an issue.
Collaboration is a great foil for feeling like you’re all blogged out. It can bring new energy to an old topic, and liven up a tired crowd. Next time you’re wondering what to talk about, talk to another blogger about collaborating on your next post.

I like the idea, I really do. Is like discussing a subject but “cross-blogs” so people can start browsing one one subject from different points of view. It will work more like a “ring” (remember that old word!) and I’m sure it can be fun for many of us.
Hugs!

Hi Javier,
That “old word” ring is still very much in use in some niches if you look for it. It’s particularly popular in places like indie music websites and writing blogs.
I’m working on the post for this week’s SOBs. Bet you can’t guess who’s logo is on it! Have you figured out yet where you’ll put the button?
Liz
Yep! on my about page (that is the only spot people really visit anyway, to find who is writing with all those typos 😉 I will add a “Proud” above the logo!
I’ve noticed something interesting that may worth mention here. People sometimes send me one of my paragraph where I had a typo and below, the corrected paragraph. It may sound silly, but it is serious thing! sometimes I get entire articles corrected on my email from people who come by and wanted to give me a hand. That’s notorious and really exceptional; because they don’t even ask for a link or anything: they just want to help.
Don’t know why I bring it up here, but it was worth mention it. I just got one from an old article.
I’m so hungry right now 😉
Hugs and good day Liz!

Javier,
You are lucky to have friends like that. I know it’s because you have shown them that you are open to their help and people like to be generous. That’s a truth I have learned.
Always leave a guy a place to stand and always give a guy room to be generous.
I’m sure you thank them. They are probably doing it to thank youf or the wonderful information you share with them.
Go eat.
smies,
Liz
