Cottontimer, aka Hsien-Hsien Lei, is a professional blogger writing about science, health, and parenting. Cotton-Pickin’ Days is a personal blog about her life and work. The main focus is on Hsien’s nearly 10 years of living as an expat in Asia and Europe.

Notes from Liz: The word professional is not an overstatement in any way when talking about Hsien-Hsien or her writing. She’s a blogger other bloggers look up to and try to emulate. I know I do. Her writing is a reflection of who she is strong, warm, incredibly well-informed, and easy to take. In fact, I’d take her home with me if she lived closer.

    I’m really liking your new location and new thrust. I’m an old reader that mostly just lurks, but I just had to leave a comment and let you know how much I really like the new,new design - fewer words and to the point. I think your new emphasis on bloggers instead of blogs is so much more personal and will give us readers / users a lot more to move with and dig into. My humble opinion is that the red is WAY too red,it vibrates just looking at it. Toning it down a bit would make it way more pleasing to the eye. I also REALLY like the subtitle “A community of leaders” and hope it will help make the readers begin to think of themselves more as both a “community” and “leaders”. As such, I think a slightly different color treatment would be good. Sorry to leave my very first comment and add all these suggestions. I work in publishing and see stuff like this all the time and just can’t help myself wanting to make yours the very best it can be. You DEFINITELY deserve the best.

    Nice to meet you. Welcome to Successful! Comments are always welcome too, especially ones from fellow publishers that care about color as much as I do. Yeah the red vibrates a little.

    I’m a lover, not a figher. So I’m more than willing to share. :)
    Why not just hang out over here with us every once in a while. I keep a full-stocked virtual bar of soft drinks and other stuff and I’ll import whatever you like to eat.
