Today in Blog Watch at Newsweek
Do you know Blog Watch? The tagline is A mainstream-media snapshot of what’s hot (and what’s not) in the ever-widening world of weblogs.
Here’s January 30, 2006 selection.
Hot?
Making fun of celebrity fashion–gofugyourself.typepad.com
A war of words over the New York Knicks–deadspin.com
A Mel Gibson parody that Mel is threatening legal action–melgibsonsblog.blogspot.com
What’s Not Hot?
Blog Watch didn’t mention. Darn. It’s probably what I’m reading.
How many blogs are they watching ? . . . Makes me wonder about their criteria. Think a hat was involved?
I have an idea! Why not have a blogger write Blog Watch? What a concept!
Okay, so it was just an idea. . . . What would I know?
I’m just a blogger, not even a hot one at that.

Liz,
In my eyes you’re (a) hot (blogger)
Gotta love Mainstream Media’s latest attempt at writing about blogs (getting a blogger to write Blog Watch - Nah, that would just make too much sense).
Well seeing there are millions of blogs I would guess they have no criteria - maybe they just do a Google search +”what’s hot” +”blogs” and +”what’s not” +”blogs” and go from there.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the compliment. Maybe the warm weather’s getting to ya. Here’s your nachos and a cool one.
Yeah I was laughing at the choices . . . What do you think 3 minutes tops, maybe 4?
Maybe go ask an intern?

[...] I tried Cheryl’s techniques on yesterday as a test. Check out the two Newsweek posts I ran–one about Martha Stewart and one about their column Blog Watch. Both were worth posting in their own right, but I was also testing whether the new Technorati-Newsweek partnering would work on my broken Technorati account. It did not. [...]
