Get Closer to You

This is a series of questions, I don’t know how many. They are the ones I ask when I help folks get closer to their personal identity.

What have you been doing to make your life easier?

I’ll answer first to get things started.

I’ve been trying to live in the moment, keeping myself focused on where I want to go. If I stay in the moment, with only that bit of a future before me, I can give my attention to the people and things that I care about most.

    Hi Liz

Living in the moment - yes. Looking to the future to see where/who I can help best, also yes. Looking, no learning from the past so I’m more open to feedback: definitely.

Becoming more mellow too I’ve discovered )more like being told that I am that is). Not focusing so hard on to ‘be right’ but more to ‘feel right’

Hmm, good question, Liz! I think I’m beginning to trust that it is possible for me to attract inspirational teachers into my life. Since I started to developing this trust, more and more teachers have come into my life and have enhanced it in some magical way. I feel like a traveler who has made their way through the desiccated desert only to have stumbled into some wonderfully lush oasis where words of wisdom feed the roots of the strong shade-giving trees and the cool, clear water slakes my thirst for enlightenment. It goes without saying, Liz, that you are one of those teachers. Thank you for all that you add to my everyday experience of life. You truly are a treasure :-)

    Hi Karin!
That’s part of my thing too — realizing that being right isn’t as important as doing the right thing.

    I’m so with you.

I can’t wait to meet you!
I hope it’s in the cards to do that soon. We’re working on it. I think you might be one of the those magical teachers that you talk about. :)

    Hi Liz

I’m working on a way to move house to a place that gives me more lift, bounce, inspiration and enthusiasm, and reduces financial overheads. It should make life easier in the long run.

    But not the immediate!

Thanks for asking. I’m glad I checked in - got a chance to read Amy’s comment. Isn’t she a star?

For me, it’s been all about building foundations one at a time. If I put extra effort in at the beginning of a project then I only need to focus on maintenance from there which allows for additional projects.

I routinely drive my children NUTS with this, mainly because foundation-building isn’t particularly glamorous or entertaining. We’ve been working on basic skills in school together, and they’re anxious to get on to the ‘exciting’ stuff. One day, they’ll recognize the benefits of my approach. They’re almost ten now, so I’m figuring I’ll get thanked sometime after 2023.

But you never say your what and I’m wondering if that was intentional, leaving us to think about what we personally want/need to make easier, or whether it was just an interesting slip.

Everything seems easier when I stop trying to fix others or situations based on my expectations and just let go and let God. It involves a level of trust that is new to me, but one that I am really learning to like.

pause - that makes my life easier

and in that pause I like to breathe, redirect and be grateful

    can’t do it enough

and yet when I do my pause always smiles at me and gives back

I’m focusing more lately on working smarter than, say, working harder. I tend to default to putting in serious hours lest I not feel productive or useful or maximized, so I’m focusing on re-framing my approach. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but the shift in awareness is, I feel, a good start.
