The Mic is On! What’s Hot and What’s Not?

ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 6:59 pm

It’s Like Open Mic Only Different

Here’s how it works.

open mike night

It’s like any rambling conversation. Don’t try to read it all. Jump in whenever you get here. Just go to the end and start talking. EVERYONE is WELCOME
The rules are simple — be nice.

There are always first timers and new things to talk about. It’s sort of half “Cheers” part “Friends” and part video game. You don’t know how much fun it is until you try it.

Tonight we’re talking about what’s bloggy hot and what’s not!

hot

We might also talk about

  • what the cool bloggers wear when they’re posting
  • hot blogs, hot bloggers, hot ideas for bloggers to blog about
  • spam, weird search strings, off the wall comments
  • what cool things you wish someone would come up with

AND THE EVER POPULAR,
Basil the code-writing donkey, and I heard Milton the Moose might show up.

–ME “Liz” Strauss

Just thought I’d clue everyone in to something that’s just coming up the pike.

    http://kickasswebdesign.com/wordpress/2006/10/update-to-ie7-ecommerce-bug-and-a-mcafee-warning-as-well/

As if we didn’t have enough to worry about with that dang broken browser, now it’s throwing false positives on legitimate ecommerce sites and telling surfers that it’s a PHISHING site! Nothing like killing someone’s business with bad software. Everyone who does ecommerce needs to come down on MS about this before final release. One of the things that triggers it is third party payment processing, so any blogger with a donation button could be on that list.

All you can do is navigate every part of your ecommerce site while using IE7, including going through payment processing and see if it triggers the warning. If it does, then there’s a link you can click as the site owner to report the false positive.

Well the problem is between AdSense Video ads and Norton AV.

The recent update that Norton did is now blocking Vads from Google.

Nothing we can do, it’s up to norton and the people who use it to complain loud enough…

Joe, what URL is your FeedBurner feed pointing to? Perhaps it’s pointing to your partial feed URL.

Feedburner should work. If not you can adjust the look and feel in your style sheet as well as at your feedburner control panel.

Joe: it might depend on what newsreader you’re using. I subscribed to your site using my Netvibes account (second choice for me!) and I’m getting a full feed.

Steve (Milton) I tried both of them and still only get the partial. Unless the actual code in the style sheet has to be changed?

Then I may need Basil the Code Writing Donkey, but he’s travelling. He should be here in another week or two, maybe I’ll just wait for him to show.

Ok, for those who are having feedburner problems …

I just did this a week ago. I’d done something wrong and it went from full feeds to partial. Partial is … not what I wanted.

Here’s what I did to fix it on my WP blog. Of course, it was after researching for two half days, trying everything and nothing worked. I even reloaded rss, everything.

    1) turn off feedburner

    2) delete the feedburner plugin from your server

    3) download a new feedburner plugin and upload it

    4) turn everything back on (it will remember your settings)

    VIOLA!
