Beach Notes by Guest Writer Suzie Cheel
Each morning this week after our walk and swim I have been meditating.
Today as I sat on a rock and looked out at the clear blue sea, to the horizon these words formed.

Meditating sitting on
the sun warmed rock
At the place I call paradise
My feet resting
on the warm white sand
Listening to the sound of the sea
I feel connected to the earth
To my soul
To my very being

How do you find you way to reconnect?

Love that photo! My reconnection time usually happens when I get outside and walk the dog. She’s actually sitting right here begging to go out so I’ll be heading outside in a few minutes. Wish I had a beach nearby, but your photo will carry me today. 🙂
That does it! I’m turning off the computer and heading to the beach! My husband is traveling in northern Illinois and he says snow is predicted up there.
I was pouting – missing snow. (Trust me, it does happen!) This post has inspired me to ENJOY what I’ve got – warm weather and the beach!
Thanks for the nudge in the attitude department!
I reconnect by gazing up through the sun-filtering canopies of the two live oaks I adpoted from Home Depot in 1994. Those babies were 8′ tall then, now at least 18′ tall.
I also hug my kid a lot – so reconnective!
I recently realized one of my long-term goals of moving to northern Minnesota on the shores of Lake Superior. It’s wild and beautiful! (Kathy is right. 🙂 Some of us actually miss the snow.) I walked to church this morning and gazed out over the lake, which was dark and roiling in advance of a coming storm. Even the tempestuousness of nature is glorious and reconnects me to reality. Thank you for the post, Suzie. Thank you for making me reflect…
