Get Closer to You
This is a series of questions, I don’t know how many. They are the ones I ask when I help folks get closer to their personal identity.
If you could choose, what would be the first thing that you’d want people to know about you?
I’ll answer first to get things started.

I’d hope folks would know that I believe everyone gets to choose his or her own life — and that everyone gets the life with those choices bring. I’ll champion their right to do make their own choices and I fiercely protect my own.
I’d hope people would know that I only have one goal in life: to live my best life.
Hi Jamie,
I know that now. 🙂
It’s a great goal to put first.
I live life believing that to be successful, you must take ownership of ALL your actions…the good AND the bad. Don’t go looking for someone else to blame when things go bad or well.
I’m big on teaching my kids this.
Data points,
Barbara
Hi Barbara!
That’s a good first thing on which to build a relationship.
Your kids will be well served by that.
I guess the first thing I want folks to know about me is I enjoy wearing a Stetson hat and say, “Howdy!” when I meet ’em. Seems to me that would tell them a lot right there.
Hi Robert!
I guess it does say a lot, if they’re looking at what that says. 🙂
I wear both my mind and my heart on my sleeve.
You’ll never wonder where you stand with me … if there’s something on my mind, I say it and if there’s an emotion in my heart, you’ll know about it or feel it for yourself!
being mother earthy and all — i’d want folks to know that i am grounded and caring, that I am not mainstream, that i like alternative ideas and that I have the grace not to shove that into someone’s face, at least not until I get to know them better – ha!!
You know Liz, I don’t know if this is good or bad but I’m sitting here and can’t think what the first thing I’d like people to know is…
I mean, I’m a very optimistic person…you know, I have that “happy-go-lucky” attitude because at the end of the day, life is good… But I don’t go saying that to people. They pick up on it sure…
I guess I’m having one of those moments where I’m looking and questioning my personality (probably why I haven’t yet hit the publish button on the “About” page to my new blog. But I”ll get there…).
Hi Karen!
I’ve actually written the same about me. I guess if that’s who you are, you tell folks from the start. 🙂
Mother Earth.
I think that could be more than one thing, but who’s counting? 🙂
You are just what you said. 🙂
Ricardo,
Go ahead and hit that publish button. You can always edit it later. Let your hope and intuition guide you on this one. 🙂
Sometimes easier said than done…but I’ve told myself to have it ready by Friday. I’ll let you know how I fair out… 🙂
hey ricardo, the very cool thing about
“about” is that it changes,I am a way different about than I was when I first started blogging. Edit and or delete can often be your friend. Just had to chime in 🙂
Liz thanks for always keeping the vibe going.
Ricardo,
Keep promises to yourself. It’s really important that if you make a promise to yourself that you value and keep it. Otherwise you lose confidence.
Thanks Mother Earth,
You’re so right!
I bet we’re all different from our “about” pages within a month or so of when we write them. 🙂
@Liz & @Mother Earth: My about page is up on my site now. Have a “looksie” and let me know what you think.
@Mother Earth: Thanks for the reminder that an about page is fluid…that it can change. I’ve worked up the courage to place this up for starters and I’m hopeful of what my blog has to offer for the future.
Hi Ricado!
Looks great! Congratulations!
Bit slow to respond… been away for a week and had this open in my feed reader waiting for a response!
I would either like people to know
a) I’m shy, but start chatting to me and I’d love to chat back, or
b) I’m a Christian.
I guess if you knew (a), then you might find (b) out fairly quickly after that. Ironically (b) is one of the last things on my about page, but looking at the structure of the page it seems to make sense too.
Funny – I read this as the *one* thing you’d want people to know.
My answer when I went for *that* was:
A person who is still and extremely awake that holds a space for other people to find their stillness and wake up.
Hmm… that’s SO not on my About page.
I want people to know that I enjoy helping solve problems in love relationship by communicating from the heart and enjoy sex no matter what age.
I like taking people who know how to solve their own problems into higher ecstasy and deeper intimacy with Tantra and other heart opening techniques which work powerfully.
What is the best way to reach a wide audience who does not get turned off by the word tantra.
