What Got Each of Us Here?
ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 10:20 pm
about the combination of things that got me here.
What’s here? Here is this moment in reality.
I am a child of all of my ancestors. I have the instincts of humanity.
I have the quirks of my experience and my DNA.
Then there’s the weird colors and sounds that make up my unique world view.
Don’t forget my positivity and resilience. I wonder who added those in?
They make up my head, heart, and meaning.
Ever wonder what brought all of the bits of each of us together?
Every one of those bits has a unique purpose, sure as a flower shining in the sun does.
Have any bit-sized suggestions on how to add just a little more sunshine?

Oooh, sunshine? Not really optimism that brings it all together for me. At least for me, it’s to finish what I started. It’s to keep the promises that were made a long time ago.
It’s to be happy on my own terms and not anyone elses.
That’s what brings me together. It’s a bit more complicated than what’s been said, but that’s the gist of it.

Feeling the ground beneath our feet. How the earth supports us and helps us grow. Sinking down into a delicious moment of gratitude.
Every person you’ve ever smiled at.
Every word you ever wrote.

Every few years, you’ll meet a person for whom you’ll either teach or from whom, you’ll learn critical skills that will mean the difference between success and failure later on in life.
Be alert to those meetings; they can change your life dramatically when you recognize it.
I’ve met 5 such people so far in 43 years.
Enjoy,
Barbara

Hi Edrei!
Setting out to do something and completing it successfully is a certain kind of productive positivity in my book. Keeping promises to ourselves and to folks that we’ve made them makes the world stronger through human connections that are meaningful.
Every thing is a “bit” more complicated and a “bit simpler than how it looks at first glance, isn’t it?

Hi Joanna!
Feeling good for everyone who smiled back. Feeling good for every word that inspired.

Hi Barbara!
Welcome!
I’ve been lucky to know a few of the sort of folks you mention. One of them was my dad.

So true about what brings a person to where they are.
Many folks blame God and the world instead of taking some ownership and seeing that some is just the way things are from the start.

Hi Todd,
Many of us find it hard to own our own actions. I suppose that could be because we don’t really think about them when we’re doing them . . . we’re only responding. If we took ownership of our lives, we be so much further ahead.
