Technorati Has a NEW Home Page–My Blogs Are Stuck Again

ME Liz Strauss wrote this at 7:04 pm

How many votes say this is a coincidence?

New Technorati home page today.

My blogs have been stuck for two weeks. One blog has lost 50 links in that time.

TEchnorati Home Page

Businesses do such things as make shiny new displays and forget their customers, when they are looking for capital or looking to be bought.

Last time I talked to Janice, she said her email had been broken. I sure hope that Janice isn’t sick. OR WORSE that she hasn’t gone the way that Niall Kennedy went. I like Janice. She’s our only hope.

Technorati, when it works, is a tool that helps my brand and provides promotion. I don’t like it when it is broken. I don’t want David Sifry to tell me he’s looking into it. Neither does anyone else I know.

I’m trying hard to stay the nice one here. This is month seven.

I’ll say it again - when is someone going to buy Technorati with enough resources behind them to make it work consistently before we all give up on it.

And heck, where are the competitors to Technorati so they can get off their butts and fix the damn thing.

Any real alternarives to technorati out there ?

No there really aren’t. I’ve looked and I’m still looking. The problem is that they’re all still getting their act together and their systems running.

Technorati right now has the system sewn up.

    That won’t be forever.

Too bad. Competition is good - might raise the bar higher.

BTW, nice going at Chartreuse - obviously I had to leave a comment ;-)

Yeah, Martin, I’m right with you on the competition issue. Competition keeps us humble and honest . . . and working for a living, aware of our place in the universe. It stops us from taking our own press to seriously.

Speaking of Chartreuse, he made such a great point last week about never forgetting your core audience. They’re the ones who made you famous. They’re the only ones who care about you. That’s a little bit of what’s going on here.

Yes, It’s very nice what he’s doing for me.

EVERYONE SHOULD GO VISIT CHARTREUSE AT http://chartreuse.wordpress.com/ and see how he’s making me famous. I’m blushing. That takes A LOT.

Don’t blush, just ride the wave and see where it takes you.

BTW, here’s what you should do: Write a quick post, something like” Welcome all Chartreuse Readers” and give a brief explanation of you, what you do here etc.,

Darren does this all the time when he’s mentioned in the press, welcoming new readers to his blog. Do the same and who knows, some of them might stick around.

And remember, as you’re getting (more) famous I’ve been settled into that bandwagon from day one. ;-)

I was thinking of doing something. But it will definitely be more Liz than that. :) I’m the nice one.

Hey, I’m still not going anywhere without you. You’re my core audience. AND the only one who eats my nachos.

    Mark,
I’m starting to think that I left crayons in my sidebar and that’s what’s gunked up their whole system. You won’t tell. Will you?

    Gary,
Shhh. Someone will hear you. I didn’t mean to leave my crayons there overnight. I thought they’d be okay next the nacho machine.

[…] Miz Liz has written about it on more than one occassion. So have others around blogdom. Now it’s hit the the Blogoplex. I was looking at my Technorati account the other day and I noticed a new blog listed under my claims. Now this would be all fine and well if I had cranked up a new blog, but I haven’t. Not only that, I have no idea who Chris Coffman (the name of the person who apparently owns the blog that is showing to be claimed by me) is, nor had I ever visited his site until I saw it on my Technorati account. Now, I’m sure Chris is a nice enough guy, but I doubt very much that he is aware that our friends at Technorati have mixed his blog claim in with mine. […]
