Teaching Sells . . . Perfect Timing

October 25, 2007 by Liz 12 Comments

Page Rank Slams

Teaching Sells

If your blog or your business in any way depends on Google traffic, then you couldn’t have missed what happened yesterday.

A discussion of the page rank drop and a list of affected blogs was offered by Daniel at Daily Blogging Tips:

Here is a list that I gathered with big blogs that supposedly lost PR . . .

  • Statcounter (from 10 to 6)
  • Engadget (from 7 to 5)
  • AutoBlog (from 6 to 4)
  • Problogger (from 6 to 4)
  • Copyblogger (from 6 to 4)
  • AdesBlog (from 7 to 5)
  • Search Engine Journal (from 7 to 4)
  • Quick Online Tips (from 6 to 3)
  • Search Engine Roundtable (from 7 to 4)
  • Blog Herald (from 6 to 4)
  • Weblog Tools Collection (from 6 to 4)
  • JohnTP (from 6 to 4)
  • Coolest Gadgets (from 5 to 3)
  • CyberNet News (from 6 to 4)

In a second list, Daniel goes on to mention several mainstream media sites also hit, including the Washington Post, Forbes, and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Kind of makes us all stop to wonder how Google dependent we are.

Teaching Sells Opens the Doors

On the same day, Teaching Sells opened its doors.

You might remember me mentioning a free report about Teaching Sells, a study done and now, a full curriculum for online business offered by Brian Clark and Tony D. Clark.

Here’s what Brian says:

The Teaching Sells training program is a comprehensive and detailed step-by-step guide to creating successful multimedia membership sites. It’s a complete methodology for choosing profitable topics, developing dazzling content, attracting paid members and building air-tight websites.

Charter members will get a 12-week , plus forum access to instructors. Here are the course titles:

  • How to Create Content That Sells

  • How to Create Killer Multimedia Content with Quick and Easy Tools
  • Seven Profitable Business Models for Interactive Content Developers
  • Your Blueprint for Building Membership Sites with Open Source and Low-Cost
  • Software

Check out the courses in detail and enroll here.

I’m a part of this venture and proud to be, particularly because of the high-value offer that’s in effect until October 31.

Google seems to have done Brian and Tony a favor. Check out how this program can do your business an even bigger one.

Free Report: Learn Why Teaching Sells

October 16, 2007 by Liz Leave a Comment

An Invitation

Teaching Sells

This week I received an invitation from Brian Clark. Did I want to tell you about what he and Tony D. Clark are releasing?

Brian got this teacher’s attention as soon as I read, “Teaching Sells.” I thought, “Oh, he’s picked a tough crowd for this one. This teacher sure hopes it’s good.”

I sent questions. I pictured Brian shaking his head, thinking what a pain I am. He didn’t need questions like “What pedagogy are you basing this on?” But he got a list of them anyway.

The cool thing is I got answers in almost no time. And I couldn’t find anything to poke holes in. What I found was information on . . .

  • the best uses for your blog
  • avoiding the “working for Google” trap
  • why being “not normal” is an advantage
  • how to make money sharing what you already know

. . . more than that. Oh and, the teaching model (pedagogy) they’ve chosen is a good one. The opportunity to make more money online is one that works for almost any entrepreneur.

So, I’m happy to link you to

Free Report: Teaching Sells

Click that big title to get your copy. The report is free. I’ve read it. It’s solid business and sound educational practice. You owe it to yourself and your business to download and read this. Your time and expertise are valuable.

Congratulations, Brian and Tony! You’ve hit the mark on both counts. Teaching Sells.

Every Blogger Knows . . . Thank You Is Living on the Web

June 20, 2007 by Liz Leave a Comment

It’s the Living!

relationships button

Every blogger knows we have to repeat what we say, because sometimes folks are absent. . . . or they’re busy thinking their own thoughts . . . or we didn’t say it quite as well as we might. So when a friend says something brilliant we keep it close and use it again and again.

It starts with the words of Tony D. Clark. Thank you, friend.

The whole thing changes when the world becomes your community.

Every blogger knows having a friend who will help out is why the Internet is thriving.

Two weeks ago, I asked a favor of Mitch Matthews. Would you guest host Open Comments Night? He made it sound like I was giving him a gift. Thank you, Mitch, for jumping in with all of the energy, fun, and wonderful things you are.

Every blogger knows, when someone comes to town, it’s important to say “hello,” even if you’ve never met. As it turned out a hello became the start of a conversation with Jeff Pulver and his cousin. Eric, and ended in Jeff’s Summer Party at the House of Blues. Thank you, Jeff, for your charming curiosity, your incredible generosity, and the amazing people you gathered in one room.

Every blogger knows some folks are connected before they meet. How do you do to Chris Brogan, who greeted me with kind words from a friend, Becky McCray. Thank you, Becky. I feel like you introduced us. Thank you, Chris, for unexpectedly showing up, and showing up more than I would have expected.

Every blogger knows that coming home is the best! Thank you everyone who was here at Open Comments Last Night to make Mitch feel welcome as a guest.

Thank you, Wendy and Ari, for being part of the event last night. Fun isn’t as much fun without people who are close.

Yeah it’s right. Sometimes we have to repeat what we say, because folks are absent. . . . or they’re busy thinking their own thoughts . . . or we didn’t say it quite as well as we might. So I’ll say it again.

I’m one lucky blogger so many times over. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Tony D. Clark is a B.A.D. Blogger

November 15, 2006 by Liz Leave a Comment

Blogger A Day Call: Hello is Tony there?

Yesterday, I heard Tony D. Clark’s voice for the very first time! Today I feel good about saying I think he’s a friend of mine. Maybe part of that’s because he’s been reading Sucessful-Blog since before I was here. Immediately we were talking about good stuff.

He told me about jobs he had — drawing his cartoons on surfboards and t-shirts and working in bookstores, among others. He decided he liked having clients better than having a boss.

I told him how having three daughters meant that he had been hit by the “curse of the movers.” The curse is one my friends and I made up iwhen we were 20. It says that guys who are wild men in college should grow up to only have daughters.

The conversation was mostly about creativity. We shared thoughts on how artists, writers, and others have to invest personally to do creative work and then have to step back and let the work go. We both like the collaboration part of working with a team — how ideas change when they have everyone’s view. Tony said that his cartoons are still his favorite thing to do.

Boy, time sure flew while we were talking.

B.A.D. Blogger Quote

Stop by Tony’s Blog, success from the Nest and say hi!

Thanks, Tony, you B.A.D. Blogger!
