Drive a High Performance Blog and Watch Your Numbers Go Up

October 17, 2007 by Liz

How to Blog Series

High Performance Blogging

Most folks are blogging for some sort of visibility — making money makes visibility even more important. Like a great car, a great blog works best on the right fuel, and the right fuel with the right driver can take a great blog to performance numbers that hit the top.

We have to use all we are and all our blog can be to hit peak performance. Still it’s worth it for the community and the response.

The Engine

The content is the engine. High performance content

  • is factual and accurate.
  • is original and adding value.
  • is well-expressed and well-structured.
  • is timeless and linkable.

Outstanding content is so engaging that we’re drawn into the experience or the story. We forget that we’re reading and move along from thought to thought.

The Handling

High performance design and presentation is

  • is simple and elegant
  • fast and intuitive in navigation.
  • enhances the written communication.
  • offers white space and visuals to support the text.

Top-notch presentation doesn’t call attention to itself. It underpins the content with a feeling that helps to define the experience.

The Driver

The high performance blogger makes the blog a beauty to watch. A high performance blogger

  • has a presence and a voice that readers respond to.
  • gets jazzed by readers’ ideas and what they say
  • isn’t afraid of the blog or a crash now and then
  • knows that performance is all about the fans

A high performance blog is fun to watch and even more fun to be part of. Make a high performance blog and watch your numbers go up! Remember to keep it and yourself tuned and fueled regularly.

In which areas is yours already a high performance blog?

Be irresistible

Creating Chemistry

October 17, 2007 by Liz

parrot friends
Can we talk about . . .

chemistry?

I think six degrees of separation really should be many paths of connection.

Every person connects to the next one. Every person I meet connects to you and to me. Each person brings a path to what we all have in common. Those paths connect us in network of humanity. Every path goes to who we’ve been and who we might be.

I look for high roads we’ve strayed from and backyards where we chase clouds and stars. I see weight of crowds with heavy loads that need setting down. It’s hard not to respond to one person’s journey. Every journey is about how alike we all are.

Humanity is brains and hearts seeking each other out. One human thought, one human feeling jumps a synapse of air to bridge the gap between two human beings. We call that chemistry.

I can’t help but wonder . . . if we valued our paths more, could we create more positive chemistry?

The Mic Is On: It's About "Past Lifes" — 5 yrs. 10 yrs. 199 yrs. ago!

October 16, 2007 by Liz

It’s Like Open Mic Only Different

The Mic Is On

Here’s how it works.

It’s like any rambling conversation. Don’t try to read it all. Jump in whenever you get here. Just go to the end and start talking. EVERYONE is WELCOME.
The rules are simple — be nice.

There are always first timers and new things to talk about. It’s sort of half “Cheers” part “Friends” and part video game. You don’t know how much fun it is until you try it.

That’s Right . . . 5 yrs., 10 yrs., or maybe 199 yrs. ago!

Here’s a few ideas to get us started:

  • What did we do in a past life?
  • What did we wear?
  • Where did we go?
  • What did we think was fun?
  • How was our hair?
  • What transportation was cool?
  • What slang did we use?

And, whatever else comes up, including THE EVER POPULAR, Basil the code-writing donkey . . . and flamenco dancing (because we always get off topic, anyway.)

Oh, and bring links about who who you used to be!

Free Report: Learn Why Teaching Sells

October 16, 2007 by Liz

An Invitation

Teaching Sells

This week I received an invitation from Brian Clark. Did I want to tell you about what he and Tony D. Clark are releasing?

Brian got this teacher’s attention as soon as I read, “Teaching Sells.” I thought, “Oh, he’s picked a tough crowd for this one. This teacher sure hopes it’s good.”

I sent questions. I pictured Brian shaking his head, thinking what a pain I am. He didn’t need questions like “What pedagogy are you basing this on?” But he got a list of them anyway.

The cool thing is I got answers in almost no time. And I couldn’t find anything to poke holes in. What I found was information on . . .

  • the best uses for your blog
  • avoiding the “working for Google” trap
  • why being “not normal” is an advantage
  • how to make money sharing what you already know

. . . more than that. Oh and, the teaching model (pedagogy) they’ve chosen is a good one. The opportunity to make more money online is one that works for almost any entrepreneur.

So, I’m happy to link you to

Free Report: Teaching Sells

Click that big title to get your copy. The report is free. I’ve read it. It’s solid business and sound educational practice. You owe it to yourself and your business to download and read this. Your time and expertise are valuable.

Congratulations, Brian and Tony! You’ve hit the mark on both counts. Teaching Sells.
